Are these the ones that eat aiptasia? you were telling me about these.

How many do you think I need. Will 4 be ok? if so, I will take them, let me know when they come in.

When there is no more aiptasia left, will they scavange?

Yes all they eat are aptasia and yes i think 4 will be more than sufficient as they do breed if there is a plentiful supply of food.
Now on the other hand they will starve to death when your aptasia is gone.

No problemo, how aggressive of eaters are they.... Depending on that I will take 3-4.

thanks Kevin.

I read somewhere that peppermint shrimp may kill the Berghia ,anybody know if this is true ? If they are ok together then I will take 2-3.

BUT... instead of letting them die... you could always take the back to the LFS and they could resell them. Yes you already paid for them... but if they die... that money is gone anyways. Why not keep them going.

OR there has to be someone who has aptasia that would take them off your hands.

Just a thought.... you could always keep an aptasia feeder tank for them and then they never have to die ha ha! I saw a local LFS try this once.

No problem I will give you store credit for them when you bring them back like I do with the Seahare Rentals.

For those of you who are considering buying the berghia nudibranches, they are a good way to go.
While I didn't get mine from Red Coral, I do have to say their pricing is the best I have seen in Canada.

When I got mine, I got 8 of them, to make up for any that didn't make it during acclimation as they are extremely delicate animals. I have a 57g tank with lots of aiptasia in it.

Within the first 24 hours I noticed the difference they were making in my tank. On average, two nudis will eat one aiptasia a night, but there are times when they will seek a hole and hide out for a day or two.

I thought I would share for you a couple of pics showing a before and after so show how well these little guys work.

Then another area around my zoas where I placed three of them, I have two that are actively out together. They are now positioning themselves to hit the two aiptasia on the rear right of the brown zoas.

If you are like me and tried Joe's Juice and AiptasiaX for the nems to come back a week later, then these little berghia are the best solution for you.

Your pricing and size are great. I bought one of these 2 years ago from a different retailer to try it out and I paid $35 for a 1/4" nudi.

Im guessing my harlequin tusk would eat these guys pretty fast?

globaldesigns 09-16-2010 05:30 PM

Kevin, I am not available until Monday, if possible, could you hold mine till then?

Rick

I put some last year in a tank with a grouper in it and immediately the grouper grabbed one and then spit it out still alive and never touched another.
