no way! you are so lucky you got a large one. How big is he actually?

Awesome looking fish. They are my favorite. Very jealous.

Beauty. Got a juv. myself that I'm hoping will remain reef-safe (has lived with corals for well over 6 months already).

Markus 08-26-2010 06:49 PM

hes almost 8 inches .. and he likes my corals for sure. i think if you get a juv and feed them prepped food they are less likely to eat your polys and such. ive already had to move 2 pieces to my nano as he was using them for a buffet.

Hey cool, another person from Bon Accord. That's neat since it's such a small town

Markus 08-27-2010 03:03 AM

wow for sure! im not from here .. just recently posted in from NB .. i just purchased a JBJ nano and would appreciate some coaching. basically all ive done is filled it up with sand and live rock.

Bon Accord or as I've heard it called, CFB Bon Accord, lol. So much Military here
That's all you can do with it for now, just let it cycle. You didn't by chance by the JBJ system that was for sale in Gibbons did you?

Markus 08-27-2010 04:08 AM

so many military here because of the affordability of housing and location for sure. i purchased the unit from st albert off kijijii for 400 brand new.

Oh  When you said new I assumed Bon Acres, didn't know there were other new homes built around town.

YUP!! It's quite the drive. There'll be a good one opening soon on the north side. Going to be able to make it to the fragfest? Hope to see you there.

Yup, 12-5 on Sunday.
Your tank will probably still go through a small cycle so I'd give it a few weeks before trying anything else. Just make sure you levels are at 0. I don't add supplements to my tank unless calcium or alk need to be adjusted. Others do add supplements so it's really up to you if you want to add anything. I want to try some but I'm confused as well what I want to start dosing  Others who have more experience with supplements could chime in and help. I'd post a new thread in the reef sub forum to ask.

Looks good and everything looks happy. Rock work is a big pain for me, I never get it the way I'd like.
