Dipping new SPS: who is doing what
Please post your dip routine to rid new corals of bugs, nudibranchs and other pests.
|
20 minutes of Tropic Marin Pro Coral Cure, then inspect after shaking it in the solution to see if any flatworms or bugs fall off. Then shake and turkey baste in a container of tank water.
If it's a smooth skin sps, then I inspect to spot red bugs, but red bugs don't scare me as much as Acropora eating flatworms cause red bugs is very treatable. |
I use Revive Coral Cleaner

Revive for 30 minutes, then shake the hell out of it so all the little critters fall off
|
Acro crabs
Make sure you remove the acro crabs before dipping.
|
I use CoralRX and dip it for about 10 mins. Kills everything except the coral.

Treated with interceptor while still in the bag floating in the sump for approx 3h (or whenever I eventually remember about them).

Acropora get an interceptor treatment overnight. Everything else usually just goes straight into the tank. However most of what I add comes from friends tanks so I already know the pests if any.

Ocean Aquatics carries it local here. It's $19.99. They could probably ship you some out. I believe Oceanic has it in stock as well.

^^^+1.....coral Rx is some pretty potent stuff.....do not deviate from the instructions..... do not take it for an all in one treatment......Coral Rx will not kill red bugs.....
