You should! It's best for efficiency if you do clean the whole cup and neck.

good point however if the skimmer is under rated it will definitely pull dark green skim mate

I run the Hydor 1000 Recirc, and would also put it up against all the others.

I can say it works great, even better since I modded the intake pump to also be a venturi... This mod tripled or more the skimmate production and darkness of it, very blackish and stinky. All hydor owners, this is a worthwhile mod.

That's some nice dark skimate, I'll throw my BM250 into the fray. They did have a bit of bad rap though because of the start-up issues, but with some tweaking it runs like a champ.
