VI frag swap
 

I had so much fun at the frag swap at Anthony's that I think we should do one here on the island. Maybe tentatively for the weekend after labor day weekend in Sept? I have plenty of room to host.

Thoughts?

I'd be interested. Looking to buy some SPS to replace those I lost. I have some Toadstools & Kenya Trees to give away to whoever wants them. Things grow like weeds.

I can't remember if she took one. I hope so. I know she took a piece of that rainbow Stylo. I lost that one too. :sad:

Once you set a date, I'll see if I can arrange a group from over on the LM to come to your event (reciprocating your efforts to come to ours:wink:)

Actually, I've been to at least a couple of VI reefer get togethers over the years & they've always been lots of fun. I would encourage anyone who can make it to do so.

I can probably bring a cooler of frags & if VI/Powll River reefers let me know ahead of time, I can also bring some supplies from the LFS if desired.

The rainbow stylo I got from snappy is trying to take over the tank....your welcome to a chunk of it

Oh, ok. I knew it was one of the stylos. As for the rainbow, I'd love a piece. Whenever you get around to fragging it give me a call.

I may need your help to frag it....stylophora is hard to frag at the best of times and this one is growing in a tight ball shape.

Yeah, that thick skeleton is hard to cut. Is there room to get at it with bolt cutters or metal shears?

Thats crazy, I thought your pearlberry was at the highest point on the rock (although you've moved the tank around since I saw it last). Lets see some close ups! :wink:

This would be my first get together with other reefers... (technicaly I'm not a reefer yet... but I may be by September)... I hope to have water in my set-up and be ready for a couple of frags... I'll be there even if I don't have my set-up up and running yet... but it would be nice to have a date and time set ASAP so I can book the day off. :D

I could use some frags myself :)

OK ... back on track ... how does the 12th of September sound? I'd be willing to host as I do have a fair amount of room, especially if we have good weather.

I don't even have to book a time off... I can start on Sunday any time I want :D even at 11:59 pm or even Monday but it would make my Monday shift a long one cause they might run into each other :D I'll be there!
Also its a little bit later in the month so I should have my tank cycled and some fish in it already.

12th is good by me.

I have a minivan and would be willing to pick-up up to 5 people from the PR ferry and drive them to the thing and back (Depending on the time it starts and what the group from PR wants to do probably the first ferry 8:10 (would get us to Naniamo before 11:00 or the 12:00 would get us there at around 2:30-3:00 probably catch the last ferry home on the Sunday 7:15 we would have to leave by 5:30ish depending on the location in Naniamo).

Was thinking 12:00 to 4:00 .... and I'm located on Stewart Ave .... just down the road from departure bay ferry.

Poor pearlberry, its just not growing nearly as fast as that stylo :razz: Crazy!! The piece from you, Marie, isn't a happy camper in my tank, it STNed some and has now totally browned out. I'm hoping it comes around soon :neutral:

12 th works for me but i will only be a buyer and not a seller, nothing big enough to cut yet :(

I might not even be able to buy anything yet... I'm rushing my build so that I can get the water in soon but it looks like I'll be out by about 2 weeks... I'll still be there though.

It's a go ... I've fragged a ton of zoa's including but not limited to boy scouts, cammiepallies, darth mauls, radio active dragon eyes, whammin watermelons, assorted blues, assorted greens. I have some branching green acro cut, some purple with green polyp acro, some green digi, some funky blue base with red and green polyp encrusting monti, I might have some sunset monti ready ... ummm, just going off the top of my head here, but ... superman monti ... limited deep water japenese zoa's as I just got them recently ... mmm, probably a lot more by then.

I'll have some styro boxes here ... also, John a local reefer will fire up a bbq and we'll have some beverages available. John will also have some of his frag racks here and he has a source for frozen uni (urchin eggs I believe) that will be available too.

PM me for my address and contact info, it could be one of the easiest houses to find in Nanaimo. I don't want to post the addy publicly though.

oh, the couple things that I would like to get my hands on are superman digi, superman zoa's and spiderman zoa's.

Tanks on course to be up and running 3 weeks before the frag swap so I plan I getting some SPS :D

Took some shots today from my frag tank. I add a few frags every day. Note that lighting is pure 14k 250 hqi MH, no attinics so the blues will be better in most tanks ... hard to believe. You can check my photo bucket for more shots. Most all will be available at the swap, please don't message me now about frags, I will only reply to buying requests after the 12th of Sept. Don't worry ... clean up crew is going in tomorrow, guess the one tang can't keep up with the algae.
