Prices vary according to unit, so please PM your specifications.

We are receiving an introductory offer for our initial order, so we are relaying that savings to our cutomers. This is a one time limited offer, so do not miss out.

Thanks

Replied to all PM's. Any other interest?

Wall mounts.

Just wanted to chime in, the so called wall mounts or tank mounts will not be included but are available for the 110 and 160 units. I'm not sure on the cost just yet but will guess about 35.00 for a set. The larger units will not have these mounts available at this time. (170 & 230)\

Thanks
Eric

On the fish-street web site it says that they recommend changing all the 3W LEDs after 30mos and the 30W bulbs after 18mos for the Maxspect G2 fixtures. Is this actually the case or are they just trying to sell more product? Other LED fixtures claim 60,000 hours of use from their bulbs or is this just hype and they actually should be changed out every 30mos as well? I'm not sure how much anyone knows about this product but any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Led life span

LED's like any other light have an optimal operating time.
The replacment time frame is true and is meant to keep the
lights operating at their best. Other companies with long burn
listings aren't lying, the lights will burn for that long; but the
output will not be at optimal. All lamps will burn longer than they
are useful to the corals in your tank. Optimal range is for the health
and well being of your tank and even replacing your lamps
at the recomended time frame is still more life, less power
useage and cheaper than with halide, T5 and VHO lamps.
You can see the life chart at maxspectcanada.com
although the site is up it is not yet available for orders.
Please direct your orders to the reef shoppe at this time.
We at LI want you to support your LFS and will be taking orders
for those that don't have access to the product through a LFS.

Tx Eric

New pricing

I just wanted to let everyone know that i've been really working with Maxspect to get the pricing down and finally got what I wanted. The new pricing will reflect what the units were going for from overseas and will make it now, more affordable for everyone to get into some LED lighting. In other news, the nano unit 60 watt has been replaced with a G2 version and now has a built in timer, temp display and moon light function. We're very happy about the new pricing and think you will be to. Contact the reef shoppe for orders. The next shipment is about 2 weeks out but you can place pre orders with the reef shoppe and make sure to get yours as soon as they arrive.

Thanks Eric.
I took a look on the Maxspect Canada site and Kelly's site but only saw pics of the top enclosure of the fixture.
It looks great from the top and side but was more interested in the actual LED side view.

Just for everyones knowledge, the bracket or hanging arm on the 60w unit is made from heavy duty aluminum and is powder coated in black. The span for mounting on a rimless style tank is 5/8" or about 15.5 mm.

Just as I thought the weights were for the entire units and not just for the fixtures. Here is a break down of the units and controllers. My light weight scale was not working and the other weights were sent from the factory, sorry for the confusion.

Weight of the fixtures:

60w: 2.5kg (controller 1.5kg, LED 1kg)
110w/160w: 5kg (controller 2kg, LED 3kg)
170w/230w: 8kg (controller 2kg, LED 6kg)

Press Release

1 Attachment(s)
Hay all, just want to officially let you know about what's coming in the near future for Maxspect. We will shortly be releasing an optics package for the fixtures. I dont have the prices locked in just yet but will let everyone know as soon as I have them and what the estimated time of availability is. Please see the below info and a pic. We are very excited to ad this new feature and I'll drop more info as it arrives.

Thanks
Eric
www.MaxspectCanada.com
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The default LED bulbs have a spread of 120°.

Using the new reflector cup will change the spread to about 90°. PAR is
increased by 150 to 200% on the same water depth without using optics.

Using the reflector cup AND optics (#1) will change the spread to about 60°.
PAR is increased by 200 to 250% on the same water depth.

The optics comes in three patterns:

1) Regular - standard clear optics, that will allow greater water
penetration capability.

2) Stripe pattern - will change the shape of the light from a circle to an
oval, which means the lights will be spreaded further out to the side,
increasing the width it could cover but reducing the depth.

3) Netted pattern- it'll blurr the edge of the
light illuminated from each bulb, thus improving the color mixing effect.

Note: Using a patterned optics (striped and netted), there will be some loss
of PAR, about 5-7%.

The Units are here.

The order of Maxspect semi units are here and will be ready to go out in about a week after a final check from customs. Just wanted to let everyone know..

I just received my G2 170W, not from here but from Eric directly.
So far impressions are great the unit is well built and put together nicely.
Unfortunately i don't have very much in my tank, i have been letting it run lean for the first year since i used complete dry rock and wanted it to build up a great base slowly.

I can answer questions if anyone would like.

Semi LED life span

I have gotton several questions about the life span chart that is posted on the web site and just wanted to clairify.

The average life of the semi's is 36 months when operated at normal temps. This is between 32c and 42c. For those have have the lights mounted where the temp of the unit gets to the 50c range is where you' ll see the life of the lights start to drop off. I really cant see this happening to anyone but some people have different ideas of how they arrange their tank electronics and at what temp they keep in and around their tanks for several different reasons. The chart is there for worst case and is not going to reflect the average user. Hope this helps with the questions about the life span of the lamps.
