How do you stop going to the LFS?
 

Just want to get some ideas on how to stop going to the LFS.
Its 5min from where i work and im there everyday. I was thinking of busing to work but then that would be annoying.

Also how do you keep from buying more livestock?! I keep itching to get more but i know i shouldn't yet. But my clowns really look like they need an anemone!

maybe there is a reefers anonymous club i can join?!

Leave credit cards at home. Have only enough $$ in wallet to pay for necessities for the day (lunch or gas).

Why would you want to stop going to the LFS:question:....:noidea:....My favorite LFS has a knowledgeable enough staff.....who by the way, are very nice to look at, for the most part....even if I dont go home with anything its a pleasure just going in:mrgreen:

The answer is simple, just work at the LFS!!! Then you will get discounts :lol:

Nothing can stop you.... Well... distance stopped me... haha. But I still go in at least once a week for no reason even if I plan on buying nothing!

There will be a time when you have bought every type of coral, then you'll slow down. It may take a few years.

I was once like you, unfortunately now I find myself really into it for a few months then relaxing for a few months. Basically what Im trying to say is when your tank is so full of corals and fish and your wondering how to fit just 1 more.....

This just made me realize I haven't bought anything saltwater related from out LFS since last September. I've actually made around $100 off of them selling them easy to keep frags.

But yeah, I'm in there loitering every week anyways... Those poor bastards.

Short of that, you can try going berzerk in the LFS in the hopes they bar you for life but most LFS owners are quite shrewd and see right though that ploy. Besides, if you're really hooked, you spend far more than it takes to rebuild the store once in a while so they keep welcoming you back !

I don't think anyone can stop going to the LFS but you have to leave your walet at home so you don't spend any money.

Keep all your receipts and then add them up after a few months. When you find the total show it to you significant other. That should do the the trick.

its working for me.. but the problem with that i think is when the money comes back in if it ever does you rebound and go crazy nuts buying stuff:)

being broke does not work I still buy stuff been lay-ed off for 8 months now and starting to look at jobs for places like Mal mart. Or buying a business they will lend a person that has not worked for a while allot of money and I mean allot of money. It does help my credit score is very high.

My LFS (Crack dealer) is evil. He phones to let me know when stuff is coming in and what has arrived and holds stuff that he thinks I will want. He E-mails me order lists to see if I want to special order anything like a gem tang just above his landed price(came so close to getting one), and lets me run an account if I don't have a lot of extra cash. He thinks it's funny when he sees my number on call display he answers the phone, "whats crack-a-lacking man" or he phones and says, " you should see the crack that just came in".

I actually have mentioned it to some of you, that I feel like a drug dealer sometimes. :twised:

The fun part of it all on my end? is to make the odd seasoned fishkeeper squeal when they see something they haven't before or in years.

I find it a challenge finding the hard to get stuff for some of you guys/gals, and keeping people interested.
