so the ball ontop there is about the size of a golf ball
|
Just don't stick your face over it! That is unless you enjoy incubating alien babies in your stomach!
|
haha nice! thats one of my favorite things to do yes
so yes i have poked at it before. it had this little white dot on the inside of the bubble so i touched it and it moved the little white thing moved! after that i was kinda freaked out so i stopped poking. |
One of my Hammer corals did something similar a while back, not quite as large & distended though. Eventually it disappeared & Hammer is still fine. No ill effects anywhere in the system.

maybe its a water cacoon and a butterfly fish will emerge?

Had that happen to a Favia in the store, after a few days it stopped blowing bubbles. Don't pop it, I've learned popping anything in your aquarium is not good.

Yup, happens once in a while with my LPS. Nothing bad ever happens from it, so I wouldn't worry. Leave it be.

I had this happen to a hammer, my clowns host in it and at night they grab a hammer or two so they don't get blown around in th current. one night when I turned the moon lights off it spooked one of the clowns and she pulled off the hammers she had in her mouth the next day there was a bubble where the injury was lasted a couple weeks. I would guess that every time you poke at the bubble it is being re-injured and blows up larger to protect it self. Just leave it be and it will go down by it's self.

My little favia frag has been doing that for at least a month. I took a look just now thinking that I could share a picture but it seems to have deflated all of a sudden.
