Green Brittle Star
Have a couple of these giant green brittle stars...what do you think?
|
You mean like mine? They get big and will catch and eat any small fish you keep with them. Looking at your list, I think that would be most of them.
(brittle star is in the bottom of an IO bucket for size reference) http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/h...icture1250.jpg |
wow. That's massive.

I think they are about as nice looking as a bristleworm (gross!). Having said that, I know some people think bristleworms are cool.
Get a nice, pretty Linckia instead! haha |

Linckia are a pretty poor choice as their true diet is unknown and they generally starve to death in home aquarium. A smaller variety of brittle star might be a better idea. Echinoderms in Aquaria by Shimek, Ronald L. http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-12/rs/index.php |

Guess what I found in the tank today?! A brittle star!! haha It was under one of my brain corals. Its about the size of a quarter including legs, and its purple and orangy.
|
haha...ya, they're all cute and stuff unless they turn into monsters! LOL
|
I have a brittle star. He is really cool to watch eat, I feed the fish Mysis and Brine Shrimp and the shrimp gets stuck on his arms and then slowly passed up along his arms to the mouth kinda like oldin' days fighting fires with buckets.
So my vote is "There great" |
I have a huge one in my tank with about 9 inches span. When they get this big is it possible they will scare fish from breeding? i have 2 black percs i want to try breeding but this star concerns me.
