Born and raised Montrealer now living in Calgary for 14 years, was transferred out in 1996 with the CP Rail Head Office move, all our family is still in Montreal, in West Island, LaSalle, Chateauguay.

My wife goes back 3 times a year, Myself, at least once.

I grew up in Crawford Park in between Verdun & Lasalle, I will be back in July to see my Mom & Family.

Would love to come by and see your tank and maybe steal a few frags :biggrin:

Did my growing up in Beaconsfield. BHS class of 85. I've been living in Vancouver since 1988. I've never stopped missing Montreal. I go back every summer and spend a few weeks in St. Anne Des Lac.

I prefer Laufleur's to "La Bell Province" by the way. JK:lol:

Hey all, im BRAND new, expecting to get water in my new 55g on tuesday! im in verdun and would just like to know where you guys get coral...new to the hobby and only know 2 places.

some of the best places are:

Aquareef (greenfield park)
Raging Reef (Papineau street, Montreal)
Octopus (Papineau street, Montreal)
Aquatica, boul. des Sources, Montreal
What's fishy, near the dorval airport.

Which store would have the best selection of SPS. I'll be there in a couple of weeks.

Hard to say, but Aquareef on the south shore of Montreal is a must go. They are closed on sunday and monday though and they do have a good selection of all the coral.

Raging reef would be my other stop and Octopus and they are both on Papineau street in Montreal.

The best thing to do is to start with Raging reef and then go down Papineau street and stop at Octopus, then continue on Papineau to the Jacques Cartier bridge to Aquareef.

Raging reef currently have a good selection of zoanthids.

There's also reefsolution and reefconcept in laval !

Reefconcept just opened their new store recently in Laval, very impressive..
They are just starting to stock their tanks, you can see they do it right..

They follow their own advice and take it slow... Other LFS would stock their tanks at full capacity just to make sales.

Another reefer from Montreal!!! Born in St. Leonard, raised in Brossard, schooled in greenfield park, moved to DDO, and bought my first house in Pointe-Calumet....hows that for getting around??? Im new in the reef world, still searching for lights so i could start cycling!!

2-90 gallon tanks, one coral and one preditorial, maybe a couple of eels, puffers Etc.....

ok, so I am not from quebec but I am in St-Jean till saturday. all i can say is wow, a lot of snow :mrgreen:

anyways aside from going to old town Montreal and going to see the Notre-Dame Basilica, is there anything else we should see while we are here.. I am thinking of doing a day trip to Quebec city also.
