Tank Length Survey

Just curious what tank lengths everyone it running, or would like to find out the most common lengths in the industry.

I am investigating a new LED lighting concept and wondering where to focus my efforts.

I am running 5 feet. I think you will find alot in the 6 feet range due to the fact it is easier to find lighting fixtures to fit it perfectly.

I was running a 4 foot fixture until recently when I found a new light from Hamilton that is 5 feet. The Hamilton Belize Sun... Very nice light, high end quality.

Mine is 48"...ya should have added 72" to the poll, lots of people with 6' tanks. :)

Spiny 04-26-2010 05:46 PM

the modular ones are the most interesting for me. Since we all always plan for a bigger tank, the idea of being able to keep the same lighting and just add a module seems like a very financially viable option

54" so a 48" fixture centers nicely and looks better on the open top and rimless tank.

Currenty 48" 90 gallon. In the works 72" 280 gallon. In the future who nows.

Mrfish55 04-28-2010 03:18 PM

Width is also a factor, most fixtures are made to accomadate a max tank width of 24" my tanks are 72" x 36" and 96"x 60" (30""and 32" deep) I would love to upgrade to LED to help cut costs, but there is nothing out there that can do large tanks.
