What type of anemone is this?
Looks to me like aptasia.
so its an aptasia anemone? how much do you think they'd sell for?
pest anemone
so its bad for my tank? :/
Yes it is. They spread like mad and have the potential to sting many other tank inhabitants.
ok so should i just throw it out or sell it?
Kill it! I don't know of anyone who'd buy one of those. :) joe's juice killed mine right quick!

This more lookes like tube anemone to me.
Does it retracts in to tube like body? |
well i dont know should i chuck it or give it away? because i just want to get rid of it! but then again if its a tube anemone i dont want to throw away, because thats just a waste
Looks like aiptasia. = bad
Does it have a hard tube to retract into? Touch it and see. The tube will not get shorter in that case |
so touch it and see, and if it sucks in the tentacles, then its........? aiptasia
How big is this anemone? I've never seen aptasia grow larger than 2"-2 1/2" across.
Although this does look similar to aptasia, I dont think it is. The tentacles seem too numerious and fine in your picture. |
its pretty big
