LF/WTB - 48" reef lighting
I'm looking to uprgade from my 2 x 250w hamilton reefstars to something more comprehensive...
I'm budgeting for 300-800$ for this new fixture. I'll consider anything 250w HQI and better, I have a preference for VHO supplemental lighting but will look at anything... PM me or leave info here. Thank you kindly. Goby. |
Are you set on MH? I will be selling my 8 bulb T5HO fixture soon.
|
I should have specified, High quality (individual reflectors and active air cooling) t5ho will be considered.
Thanks Ron. |

Bump.
I will consider a couple of pendants as well... |
i have a silverstar neon light on my setup it has littel heat good light and low power take a look
|
Thank you.
If I ever want to grow some pot...I'll consider that light...lol I have some sps and I don't think a power compact would cut it. Plus, I don't think that this light would offer anywhere near enought coverage for a 4 foot tank with coral along most of the length. Thank you though. And nice sumpless tank too. |
yup grows good pot 4 shure ;) i have corallife power compacts for my tank but the lights are dead so i put this on it's 25k 400w in there right now and my tank seems to be real happy with it
|
yeah, things look happy.
That light would be great for a softie or zoa/paly tank. |

Still Looking... |
Whenever I'm not looking to buy it seems like there are so many available...
Now I have cash in hand and nobody has a light for me to buy. Still looking. I might just cave and go buy a 6 or 8 bulb tek fixture at JL. |
SOMEONE?
SELL ME YOUR LIGHT... I am probably going to have to purchase off of RC if nobody on ol' caneef has some lights to sell me for <1000$ |

Bump. Bump. |
I will sell you my T5's for $200!
|
Hey man.
I aprreciate it but again, I am hoping to find something high end. If I go all t5, it is my understanding that fixtures that offer individual reflectors as opposed to 1 reflector for all bulbs like your unit put out significantly higher par. I would take them in trade, as we discussed over pm to try them out and experiement with t5's but I just don't want to go with a fixture that I might not be able to keep sps with at the bottom of my 24" deep tank. |
Ok well I can't go lower than $200 cause there's a red sea max I wanna but that is $350 so ya.
|
Gotcha:wink:
|
I have a 48" 2x150 Current USA Sun pod if you are interested?
|
Thank you.
but as thread states, lookin for 250w or better. |
Bump.
Started building my own fixture while I wait for one to come up here. |
