Um...Yea....

That's supposed to say NET and it won't let me change it.

kari 10-24-2003 04:37 AM

I used them before but just lately started using and things are working much better now.

StirCrazy 10-24-2003 04:52 AM

Ohhh net, no I don;t use a net when transfering new fish from the stores bag to my tank. I bought several different sized plastic strainers from the buck store and I slowly dump the fish into this after it is aclimatized and then gently lower it into my tank till the fish swims out. nets are natorious for ripping of scales and causing other wounds. I don;t like theidea of catching them with a net but it is the only way that works for me.

Where's Deb & Christy with all this rhyming going on ? I have to use a net, seems when I use my hands the fishes eyes tend to bulge, never happens with a net

Using A Net

I never use a net except to guide a fish into a container - netting is too stressful and poses the problem of possible injury IMHO. I find that fish recover faster if they are not removed from the water during transfer.

sumpfinfishe 10-24-2003 06:28 AM

I don't know what's better- a firm hand or a three stage barbed weddingband

cheers, Rich
