So who's waiting for the start of "The Pacific"? I for one can't wait. Looks like a great series. Hopefully is just as good as Band of Brothers. Starts this Sunday and I'll be glued to the bigscreen for sure.

I'm thinking it will be one if not the best mini series this year. I dunno I guess you
have to be interested in this kinda stuff to get excited. Both sides of my Family fought
on both sides(American,Canadian,German) and it just interests me. If it wasn't for these people where would we be today?

Really looking forward to it, B.O.B. was excellent.

Will it be in 3D and have blue people in it?

I'm a history buff (especially studying, reading, watching stuff on WWII) so I'm probably going to have to PVR the whole series, I'm thinking. Thanks for the reminder. Only saw one commercial for it, which is kinda strange.

I have been looking forward to this for a long time. I have watched Band of Brothers 3 times now.

Well about an hour left........spent the day watchin BOB and now am ready for somethin
new. PVR is locked and loaded!!!

I am stoked for this BOB was amazing and this looks to be its equal

Well the first episode was damn good!! I'm still thinkin this will be the series of the year.
I kind of like that the focus is on 3 guys. Can't wait for part 2.

I liked it. Has all the makings of BOB 2. You know its good when it seems like its over too soon.

They are doing 3 episodes on the Battle of Peleliu based on the book "With the Old Breed".
Amazing book, hard to believe men could be that tough and courageous.
My wife and I got to tour Peleliu in 05 while we were in Palau and I can't wait to see them tell story of this unsung battle.

I thought it was good but didn't find it nearly as compelling as BOB. Too early to tell though with just one episode so we'll see.

An old friend of the family flew for the RAF in the pacific and spent some time in a Japanese POW camp. Comparing his stories to my grandfathers (RAF Europe) I think the pacific was a much nastier theatre to be assigned to.
