That looks great man! Are you going to be leaving that skull in there or is it just to catch crabs?
|
im going to try and get it incrusted with a monti. might take awhile. Been thinking about pushing it back out of the fore ground for the time being as it does look a bit out of place :)
|
Looks great! What are the dimensions?
That vodka's not bad either, hey  |
no kidding, its really good. But expensive. I have about 3 bottles right now. Ill see how the 1 goes for a few month`s. Otherwise I want to use them for dosing storage bottle`s ca, mag , alk
|
editor isnt working for me. But 24 x 24 x 18. I will update some of the original post here right away

ok ok ill get on the rest. This was really a tank brought back from the dead.
bought it with a metal stand a sump and the skimmer off a member. i was not happy with the sump and the metal stand. So I made my own and ordered the sump after alot of design stress. |
updated.
|
The white bg is pretty different but it's a nice change to see it. Is that Sean's (kwirky) old tank?
|
at this point, I have no idea who I bought it off of. I only remeber he was not present at pick up, and it was his dad I had to deal with.
|
nevermind i I figured it out, it came from freezetyle. perhaps he will drop in and chime in as to the origin of this tank.
|
mag: 1350
cal: 540-560 not sure whats going on here... alk: 11 dkh ph: 7.8 nitrate: 0-10 ppm who knows ammonia between 0 and .25 might of kicked of a mini cycle through the upgrade. guess its time to change some water here soon. |

Anyways. the tank is looking great. next time I am in town it would be nice to see and maybe drop off a frag or something to make up for that messy transaction. |
never feel bad about being in the hospital :/ some things in life you cant control. the only thing I left behind was the bucket of rock, but I have plenty already I wasnt to concerned with that.
But your more then welcome to come by and have a look. I am extremely happy with this tank, as its built like one. Skimmer seems to be working well on top of that, after jdigital borrowed it and said there was some excessive noise, I stole the silencer from my coralife super skimmer, and its dead silent. My computer case puts out more noise then my aquarium now. |
Looks Great!!!
HEHE, I have that same glass skull, but mine is still full of Vodka. Yum, Yum, I hope you enjoyed yours. |
Hmmm temp 80.7 and climbing and the heater is on. I see by your graphs that your temp has never been that high before. Heater stuck? Man i love those web enabled reef controlers. :)
|
nah that thing is all messed up now with the port's i havent updated it with the updated plugin configuration. but the heaters are both off. ive been watching it carefully all day to see what happens as it can only be attributed to the lighting the skimmer or the return pump.
|
I was messing with that link today too. it's pretty damn cool...
|
going to get me one of those soon as soon as i can save up enough.

Good to hear man! |
and I finally found the hose for my ato :O now i just gotta figure out how to wire this thing up,
|
well, crud. intresting day at the least.
Was bombing through my test's everything was looking good showing little nitrate's. Then the ammonia test showed me what I might be expecting, readings of ammonia. Did a 15 gallon water change, with another batch of 15 brewing for tommorow. Yay for upgrade cycle's. note to self, get a seachem ammonia tag for next time i upgrade. so all I can really do is change water as fast as I can make it. Put the carbon into a reactor instead of the sock now. Now reading a zero or close to zero reading on ammonia and nitrate is still well within the yellow. So crisis adverted for the time being. Did some more aquascaping today, will post a picture tommorow before i water change. On a second note, got my moon light controller in on friday, and took awhile to decide how to mount the led's, turns out the rare earth magnets I bought awhile back are coming in handy yet again. A bit of super glue and a rare earth works pretty good on my conduit bar light rack. Just my luck however the moon is at 0 % on the lunar scale. |

Looking good.

picked up this guy today, I am hoping it goes fairly yellow in the future, the colony is huge about the size of 2 normal colonys I would find on an average day and then a bit. I have no idea what the name for it is, but it filled in my tank nicely provided it color's up in the future.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y22...l/IMG_0438.jpg Im starting to fear apocolypse is upon me, ammonia is not showing nor nitrates today, i am used to seeing at least some nitrate's. All i can do is brew more water incase the day arrive's. and hope it's just a smooth tank transfer. |
alk 6.0 dkh
mag 1400 calcium 500 calcium dont seem to be dropping at all, I have no idea whats going on with the mag rising. But my alk has been low. |
adding a little bit of baking soda should help bring the alk up and the calcium levels down, btw the scape is looking nice.

added the apocolypse button tonight. so I can lay low on the whole mad scientist scheme for the next few days. http://www.ultimateaquatics.co.uk/ac...ONIA_ALERT.jpg |
Just a quick update, since i fell off the wagon for a few month's. To much world of warcraft, then new job.... found my way back on it. I thought I was going to have alot more losses then I did. But in the end the biggest casualty was a green polyp birdsnest.
Lost a couple fish recently being my bi color blenny and a royal gramma, after checking my water I am still not really sure on what caused this, My best guess would be increased feeding's may have lead to ammonia spike. So picked up a tail spot blenny this week, funny how I found the exact fish i was looking for... right away... this never happen's..... As for the royal gramma, im in no hurry to replace that, adds color but 0 personality.. Anywho a couple crummy pics because it never happend without them. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y22...l/IMG_1312.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y22...l/IMG_1311.jpg |
Tank looks great... I miss WOW... like a lot... lvl 80 druid RIP.
You have some nice looking corals there... What happened to your anemone? Did it just hide or did it die? |
lost the anenome quite awhile back, when i tryed moving him. tryed splitting the rock he was on... and ummm got his foot. :( . either way small tanks, and anenome's dont mix.
