Pink spotted rhyzo!!!

My brother just bought me my first Rhyzo coral sp. anyone have any experience with them. I will post a photo when he has opened up but I'm absolutely stunned at this coral, being the first time I have ever seen one is person! I'm not sure how many were at golds but it was the last one there when we stopped by.

Just saw this coral eat for the first time in person, WOW it has a great feeding response for being just taken out of the ocean :D.

Fed him again this morning, WOW I recommend this type of coral to anyone that can find/ keep one.

Carmen 01-20-2010 08:45 PM

oh wow! I want one!!!!!! very neat!

It's very easy to keep (if you continue to feed it meaty stuff every day or every few days).

A bit high maintenance but can be hardy.

Delphinus 01-20-2010 11:32 PM

Do these grow new heads like a dendro would, or are they single-polyp'ed so-to-speak, forever?

Devonious 01-21-2010 04:14 AM

They reproduce by budding and some keepers of this coral have reported this happening in captivity.

Mowin down, this thing never stops eating .

icecool217 01-21-2010 06:32 AM

They are not photosynthetic right?
All you have to do is feed it. Once you get them to open up for food during the day, it'll be one of the most beautiful corals you will ever have in your tank. Looks really nice!!

Very nice. I had one as well but it died after a few months.
There is another type of Rhizo and of course you must get
Here's mine so you can see the difference.
