36" Dual 150W MH Fixture $200

36" Dual 150W DE Metal Halide Fixture made by Cool Touch Aquarium Lighting
4 years old
2 x IceCap HQI Ballasts
no fans
no supplemental lighting
Paid $707

Selling for $350.

Great lighting. Had no trouble keeping Crocea clams with it over the 4 years whereas I could not keep Crocea clams with my 5 bulb T5 fixture.

After using T5 now for almost 2 years, it is clear that my SPS grew faster and brighter with this MH fixture than with the 5 bulb T5 fixture that I have now.

Pics were after I unpacked it.

Cooltouch Dual MH fixture or 2 150MH IceCap Electronic MH Ballasts

Bump for $120.

Cooltouch dual MH fixture
No fans or supplemental lighting.

If no takers, I can rip out the 2 IceCap MH ballasts and sell them for $100 for both. Feel free to come by and see them work beforehand.

This unit was used and worked great for about 3.5 years from 2005-2008 approx before I switched to T5.

The ballasts are like these:

Pickup in Richmond or Vancouver.

Will now ship the 2 ballasts without the big external housing. $100 plus $15 for shipping regular parcel within canada.
The aluminum canopy has a nice reflector and a glass shield and would be good for retrofiting. $20 pickup only.

Was just using this before I upgraded to Kessils 3 weeks ago.

One switch needs to be fixed but the switch can be bypassed for a hardwired connection of course.

Still willing to part out and sell the Icecap 150w HQI electronic ballasts for $50 each. Can see it working before I cut the ballasts out of the switch box.

Will you ship to Ontario? Can this be modified to 30" wide? Thanks

Last time I checked 3 years ago, shipping each ballast to Ontario was about $15 each. But it might have gone up since then. Not sure what you mean by modifying it to 30" wide. It's not the fixture/reflector that I will be shipping, just the individual Icecap 150w HQI electronic ballasts. To part them, I would cut the wires that are now wired to the switches of the switch box and then the buyer would have to rewire them for their DIY metal halide project. I'll try to take a photo later.

But even if you are talking about the fixture, no it cannot be shortened to 30".

The ballasts are like this:

"I'm using IceCap's 150 watt electronic ballast. I have long-term experience with this ballast since I've used it on another aquarium for the past 18 months as well. It's small (fits in the palm of your hand), lightweight, quiet and barely gets warm to the touch. I'm able to mount it safely out of the way on the inside wall of my aquarium stand with no concern for heat buildup. It's a major improvement over the cinderblock griddle that I used previously."

Actually thinking of buying the whole set up.. My tank is 30" wide.

Ok, I'll have to measure the box, weigh it and get back to you on the shipping cost.
