Now my project car is a 79 Mustang coupe. Its presently stripped completely, but hasn't seen much work for quite some time. Other things just seemd to take up my time and money, but I hope to get back to work on it before too long. |
Mine's a 1980 El Camino...(it's actually a Caballero, but for whatever reason we've always called it 'the camino') been in the family since 81... was my Dad's. I bought it in 98, sold it to my bro in law in 01, he pushed it from garage to garage talking about fixing it up, then sold it back to me in 07.... (my Dad passed away in '03, so I had to have it back). Check out the pics, you can see where she's at now... well, there needs to be some updates.... the engine and tranny are mounted. The front suspension, steering, brakes and wheels are on, but you'll get the idea.

my lil project
this is my 1974 mazda b1800 it is all original with 45000miles. i picked it up from an older couple who were the original owners since 1974 and drove it very little. i picked it up for $300. so now i am going to work on it all i can.
i am rebuilding a 12a rotory for it that i am getting bridge ported, a webber 45 carb kit and a header with 3 inch straight pipe exhaust. looking into getting some 17in chrome rims and some lower profile tires. i am hopeing it will be done by mid summer if all goes well with work. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...mazdaB1800.jpg |

2880lbs with a chevy motor the 5.0 is a bit lighter then the chevy. 2645lbs is a stock 2nd gen rx-7 the turbo 2 is 3003lbs http://www.grannysspeedshop.com/ has a kit for under $1500 i would love to have a brudge ported rx7 they sound amazing but under 8 mpg... thats just retarded with bigger injectors tuned down and a better computer system i could be getting 20mpg and still have a awsome car. |
not saying it would be a dumb idea it would be awesome to do that. i had a buddy who used to live in edmonton who put a 5.0 in his first gen and it was just crazy the power he had. it was gonna be alot of work for me to do that when i was 17 but now that im 26 and know a lot more about the rotory ill stick with a bridgy. my mechanic tht helps me out with my rx-7s has 18 of them all done up for ice racing and time track. he has an old rx3 that he has all tuned up. that thing sounds amazing.
his first gen is exactly like the one i drive everyday, yeah even in the winter everyone thinks im crazy but its fun. im excited to get my little truck running this spring with my 12a i am working on that truck is geared low as well so it will be awesome off the line |
damb a rx3.. lucky guy
ya man that little trucks going to be awsome you should do some old school 4 spoke drift wheels with stretched tires. http://ll.speedhunters.com/u/f/eagam...s/nym/one7.jpg |
yeah tht truck looks sweet. mine has 6 bolt all around and 4 wheel drums which i am going to get converted to disc breaks, i just emailed that website you gave me askin about rear ends and front hubs for my car.
i have 2 first gens im working on. |
Finally tracked down a couple pics of my Datsun when I brought it home a couple years ago.
Hoping to start on the body work in the next few months. http://www.muiscontrols.com/ryan/510_1.jpg http://www.muiscontrols.com/ryan/510_2.jpg |

http://www.axiswheels.com/view-wheel/ogsan talk to any axis supplier, you should be able to find them for around $700-800 for the set. lol i am a bit or a wheel whore as my friends call me, changed my wheels 6 times on my 240sx when i had it. So i better post some pictures of my old beast, gave it up to enjoy the salt water hobby: 1990 nissan 240sx (looking to buy a new one in the summer) Never got around to painting it before i sold it. bought the car back in 2003 and sold it in 2008 to a friend who painted. and its for sale again lol This is it in 2004 http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e6...80_new-med.jpg 2006 http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e6...0/IMG_3200.jpg early 2008 http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e6...0/IMG_1196.jpg mid 2008 till i sold it, went back to oem look. I got sick of busting bumpers http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e6...IMG_0065-1.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e6...smIMG_4920.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e6...000/019-10.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e6...smIMG_5006.jpg after i sold it my friend raised it (was to low for him) put another kit on it, and painted it http://i357.photobucket.com/albums/o...biblow/001.jpg And this is my baby that i replaced it with. waiting on new levers, grips and bar ends right now. next is race rails and new tires http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e6...Image012-1.jpg |
hey lorenz0 the 240 is that the same one for sale on beyond does it have a wide bodykit
|
yep thats the one. it only has 30mm over fenders in the back and he added spacers to pull the wheels out. I keep telling him some new wheels would make the car look better with that kit. my friend rob had the same kit and was running weds kranze LXZ's and it looked sick.
speaking of cars, i remember when yours was for sale last year or a year before. i was debating about buying it because it came with the ITR wheels and new paint and was one hell of a deal |
lol ya good thing i picked it up last year now just need to do the final touches, power windows baby power windows lol
|
Not a car. but I did this last summer.
bought the bike for $3000 had a crappy exhaust/engine. spray painted complete with drip marks. Before: http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...34_3586105.jpg Middle: http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...34_3586106.jpg After (not quite done yet though): http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...34_3586107.jpg Planning to get a little airbrush work done. Pinup girl or something army-ish related. This thing just reminds me of a fighter jet or a helicopter |
That bike looks awesome jon! Sweet work.
|
nice bike, always had a soft spot for f4i's
|
really digging the color on that bike freezetyle
|
thanks. before the work it was kind of embarrassing to ride. the picture is a little old as it now has a yoshi exhaust led lighting. Almost don't want to take it on the track anymore
|
Boy this brings back memories!
I had a '73 4-door that I used to Autocross in Edmonton Lowered, Konis, twin Mikunis or Weber DGV depending on the gas price, short header + 2" exhaust, Yokohamas on Mini Lites, Formuling France steering wheel, 4-point belts for racing, HD truck clutch ... Lots of miles & a great ride! Have fun with it, I know I did with mine, Vic Now driving a 98 Subaru Outback Wagon that I think I blew the head gasket on this weekends Calgary reef-road-trip ... Quote:
|
