My rainy afternoon DIY project. Now with rev3 (the rimless model)

Sure a lot easyer than the little clips or a piece of PVC on a string.

Very cool, I think those could be marketable.

Delphinus 12-21-2009 10:29 PM

I agree, you could sell those. I'd buy one. ;)

One idea you could try for a "version 2", make the attachment clip part horizontal so it it could work with Eurobraced tanks.

Nice work on the acrylic, I've never had much luck with bending acrylic. Either I heat it not enough and it snaps, or I heat it too much and it discolours (once I had it even bubble up a bit).

The Grizz 12-22-2009 12:42 AM

Awsome idea definitly marketable!!!!!!!!!!!

PoonTang 12-22-2009 02:16 AM

ok I will see if I can whip up a bunch over the holidays. I am laid off until mid jan anyhow. will work on a eurobrace model too. how does $20 sound? let me know if you guys are interested.

Lance 12-22-2009 02:44 AM

I'm in!

bigmac 12-23-2009 03:09 AM

Fantastic idea!
PM me when you get some made; I'll take one (not the eurobraced version).

belzebuth 12-23-2009 01:26 PM

Eurobrace would be neat.

banditpowdercoat 12-23-2009 01:45 PM

Interested!!!!

Eurobrace!!!

ZachAttack 12-26-2009 06:11 PM

what are those things for??

PoonTang 12-26-2009 06:24 PM

You attach sheets of Nori to it to feed your fishes. It clips to the side of your tank.

ZachAttack 12-26-2009 06:30 PM

Ok that's really neat. how long would that last as a food source?? and what would it look like with euro bracing?? I have no idea what that is

Lance 12-26-2009 07:03 PM

Euro-braced version for me Darren.

Skimmerking 12-26-2009 08:17 PM

Dude i think you have found your calling man. WELL DONE I will take one for euro bracing..

christyf5 12-26-2009 08:28 PM

I'll take a euro braced one too please!

PoonTang 12-26-2009 09:11 PM

I think I will have to design one that clips onto eurobracing rather than over the lip of the tank. My eurobracing is only on the front and back of the tank so I am putting the acrylic on the ends of the tank. Is everyone elses all the way around? Is most eurobracing 1/2 inch thick?

Yup, mine's all the way around and 1/2"

marie 12-26-2009 11:53 PM

I'd take one, not eurobraced

PoonTang 12-29-2009 09:51 PM

Ok heres the prototype for the eurobrace model. Production of both models is beginning today. Anybody who wants 1 of either model just PM me and we can sort out the details.

New Price. $30 includes shipping anywhere in Canada for either model. Group orders welcome.

ZachAttack 12-31-2009 05:31 AM

...

** MAY WANT TO PATENT :P **
Looks pretty sick man. Good job.

christyf5 01-03-2010 12:24 AM

Just got my nori feeder. As per the usual my regal was a bit shy and didn't recognise it as food until we left the tank alone. Then it was feeding frenzy as usual.

Great design with a nice snug fit. It even stayed on with my regal hammering at it and will be easier to take pics than with the DIY "PVC on a string" method I was using previously

Thanks Darren!

Jason McK 01-03-2010 01:08 AM

I'd Love one of those. I would need eurobrace model

Let me know how to order

Just send me a PM. Also I will need to know if your Eurobracing is bigger than 1/2 x 3 inch. I see you have a larger tank so the bracing may be thicker.

Jason McK 01-03-2010 07:55 AM

Cool I'll meansure in the morning and send you a PM

J

Myka 01-03-2010 09:57 AM

Christy did you get the eurobrace model or the standard?

I'm trying to get a few people in Saskatoon together for a little group order. :)

christyf5 01-03-2010 04:46 PM

I got the eurobrace model

Lance 01-09-2010 07:45 PM

Got mine in the mail yesterday. It was broken  (Stupid freight guys) Not to worry though, it was an easy fix. It was a clean break right where the cylinder meets the flat bar. Nothing a little glue couldn't fix. Anyway it works great! Fits the euro-bracing perfectly.

PoonTang 01-10-2010 02:23 AM

LoL, unbelievable, yay canada post. Anyways did Marie's survive OK? If you have troubles with yours let me know and I will get it sorted out. Do you know if Marie's fitted properly? her's was a custom size.

Marie's was fine. I haven't heard back from her so I don't know how the fit is. As for mine it works fine after a small repair.

Hi Darren, Mine fits like I actually know how to measure accurately...

.......in other words in fits perfectly

Unfortunately I hadn't given a lot of thought on where to put it, the front glass pane just isn't going to work because it gets in the way of Doofus' dance hall so I'm going to have to rearrange things so it goes on the back glass

Jason McK 01-11-2010 05:19 PM

Got mine this morning

I didn't even have it clipped on the brace before my Tangs where on it.

Fits perfect and my 3 big Tangs can't rip it off.

Best feeder I've ever used.

Thanks Darren it's Great

Jan 01-11-2010 06:53 PM

How about posting a picture/video of them feeding.
Thanks.

I am trying to get 1 for you but they are so shy still I cant get within 10 feet of the tank and they dart into the rocks. So I stand there and wait but if they see me they wont come out until I back away. I will keep trying.
