I heard that there are at least a couple of sources for monster aquariums in Alberta.

Does anyone know where to go for good quality, large tanks?

Tropical Fish Imports in lethbridge will build them anysize and will ship. He has built quiet a few over the 5000G mark.

Anybody else out there that can recommend a good manufacturer of aquariums, glass or acrylic?

Not sure how big you are looking but I would try Red Coral Aquariums in Calgary!!

Theres two i know of aqua-giant in edmonton they have there own manufactering in china i got my 650 gallon tank there. There is also bow valley in calgary but they couldn't touch aqua-giant's price its like two or three dollars a gallon on custom ordered tanks.

elite aquatics builds some pretty great stuff. plus they have a CNC machine so they can do things others can't. (one piece glass eurobrace, rounded cuts, ect) plus really nice polishing.
i wouldnt get any of my tank built by anyone but them.
plus elite aquatics is one of the only stores in canada that builds tanks in store, most just send their dimensions off to a general manufacturer)

I am planning on making my decision soon, like early 2010, so I am doing all my research now, rather than later.

Talk to Wayne at Riverfront Aquariums in Calgary... he gets them ordered through a guy that builds for him. Not sure of size limitations though.

Bow Valley? Sorry my experience with them... never again. If you do get your tank built there, do not prepay. Just my experience with Bow Valley. I don't want anyone here going through the charades I went through. My next tank is a 750G, going with Elite Aquatics in Calgary for that one.

I see that your profile says you're in Burnaby. Are you looking for tanks in AB or in the Vancouver area?

id love to know if theres a manufacturer in the lower mainland somewhere!

Try concept through Edmonton. They are owned by the same people as Aquarium Illusions and make some really nice tanks. They have a stand alone business and huge shop for manufacturing.

Thought i heard Concept is no longer in business...

Concept is no more....Bow Valley Aquariums bought out all thier remaining stock and are now supplying concept with all thier tanks.

Weird.... Illusions just did a bunch of work on their shop... so this was a recent thing???

Aquarium Illusions is still in business....Concept is no more.
Bow Valley Now supplies Aquarium Illusions with tanks.

Bow Valley bought out the inventory from Concept about 3 months ago. They went into receivership.

Receivership... as in Bankrupt???? Fudge. Guess thats why they went ape **** getting their new tanks done... knew the ship was sinking.... it must have hit the reef HA HA HA.

The way this market is now.... I wonder if the store can last... prices are way too high these days. Cant afford to shop there anymore. Good staff, though.
