Upgarde to 155 Bow Front COMPLETE! NEW PIC ADDED
So here it is I have started a snowball affect. The wife would only let me put a tank in the house if it was SW. So I purchased a complete used 65 gal system with some live rock and a few residence. With in a few short month I was given a 65 gal Hex converted it to SW moved the residence of that tank to my FW 125 gal in my office.
NOW I am setting up a 155 gal BF purchased used from fellow Can Reefer. Stripped out lighting and re finished stand and canopy. Just finished re-doing the plumbing to add in 4 sprayer bar's and new unions for the pump. Ballast and bulbs for my 3 - 250w MH arriving next week, as well as my power heads ( I hope). Purchased Tunze 9010 from another Can Reefer, have 2 Coralife Turbo Twist 9W UV each with a pump and 420 w of T5's and 1 PC. Here is the start of the project that I thought I would never be doing. http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/x.../FrontView.jpg |
INCREDIBLE looking tank! I Was looking for a 155 Bow too but ended up with a 145 Half Circle! Good for you! It will be very nice! Will be watching the build!
That is a nice tank, it looks huge. Can't wait to see it running.
lookin good greg. that sucker is huge... let me know if ya need a hand with anythign.
Das is gonna be sweet....also looking forward to seeing it running....are you combining the other two tanks or are you leaving those running and starting fresh?
I am going to combine my other 2 tanks. Dividing this one with an acrylic perf panel as I have a rather large Lion Fish that would eat all my small fish in my community tank. Also I have a Picasso Trigger, a Vallintini Puffer, a Fox Face, a Yellow Tang, a Fire Clown (whose mate is in the community tank so he doesn't get eaten by Leo) and a snowflake eel that should stay sepperated from the community. Then I am going to build a sump set-up for my 65 Hex so the wife can get her seahorses that she has been bugging me for. Have not been able to talk her into setting up another large tank in the house YET but still working on her.
Any suggestions as to livestock additions for either Community or Pred? Above is my pred tank.Community I have a Jewel Damsel (not nice some time's) 2 Blue Green Cromis, .a Azure Damsel, a Spotted Hawkfish, 2 False Clowns, a Regal Tang, a 6 Line Wrassel, my Fire Clown's mate, and a little guy with a yellow mohawk and blue fin's that I can't remember what the heck it is. Also have 2 sand sifting stars and a green sea star thingy. Have been thinking of trying to sell my Lionfish but not sure what hes worth. There is a picture of him in my album's. He is easily 6" long, 2 1/2" H and 1 1/12 thick with a fin span of over 8". |
Looks good!
Hey Cory what all do you have in your tanks for fish. There was a couple of your's I really liked but can't remember what they are.

Let see Reef one.

Cool Thanks Cory. How long have you had your Copper Band, I hear they are hard to keep alive. Reef 2 is the one that you had mostly sps and Reef 1 was the one with the shrooms right.
The Copper Band came the with the tank. Reef two is the SPS tank. I say prob he has been in the tank for about a year.
Well got a little more done today on the set-up. Cut some new egg crate for the top of the overflow to keep finned friends from falling in & for the top of the tank to keep jumpers in. Also add a piece into my sump so I could add in a sponge or some thing to catch debris. Added a couple of little shelf about 2 1/2" from the bottom in each corner for 2 small pump's to feed my 2 - 9w UV Sterilizer's, to keep them out of the sand. Add 2 shelf's in to the stand on the free side & lined bottom with styrofoam. Moving stand and tank into house tonight.
New picture's added to album link on first post http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/x...oweggcrate.jpg http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/x...ggcratetop.jpg http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/x...Standshelf.jpg |

Keeping my pred tank going but going to look for a little bigger one, Bow front or corner 75 or bigger. (HINT HINT anyone planning on down grading to a 65, 55, 40 tall hex, 30 that has BF or cor. 75 or bigger find me. Converting 65 Hex to have overflow/sump with min. flow for the seahorse the wife want's ( had to give in to keep pred tank, lol). Will have every thing hooked up & ready for water, rock's & sand by Friday, I hope. New pic's will be added as I go in my album's. |

Tank is full and running, kinda aquascaped ( depends on what it looks like with coral ), sand bed down & tank is clear. Lighting in canopy is complete with 3 - 250w 14000k HM, 2 - 54w 10000k T5HO, 2 - 54w Figi Purple & 2 - 54w Actinic. I have a couple of moon light LED's but not sure what or anything they really do ( need more info ). Now I just need the boy to get his but out of bed and help me carry in the canopy.
