Ricordia Mushroom Problem
It's hard to believe that I actually have to slow the growth of something down but it's come to that point.
How do you keep these things trimmed back? I've tried injecting lemon juice and that seems to help but does anyone have a better way? They are hard on my LPS when they get too close. |
Maybe give them away. hehe
I would not mind some
Do you have pics? Ricordia's don't tend to grow that fast (at least not as fast as regular mushrooms).
Give away or sell it to canreef members :-)
Shade them out a bit if you can and/or direct some flow from a powerhead their way. That's all I can think of.

Anyways, back to my question. Flow doesn't help and these grow great under MH. I've also got a bunch of frags that are growing under Home Depot grow lights:biggrin: so these things will grow anywhere. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/p...654&pcatid=654 |
frag em and sell em, or trade them to LFS for credit
Tailored Aquatics Aiptasia Destroyer.....that will nuke em:wink: I had the same problem with some hairy shrooms.

I'll try the juice. Here's another thought. Is there a nice coral out there that would outsting(is that a word lol) the mushroom and drive it back |
Hydnophora, if you're interested in an SPS like coral (I think these are like LPS masquerading as SPS). Very aggressive coral, would be interesting to see whether the mushrooms or the Hydnophora wins.
lol coral cage matches. we can all bet... on the slowest fight in the world haha 10$ on shrooms !!!
 I'll take your bet on that. 10 bucks on an established Hydnophora frag... Coral Master has a nice looking branching type
I agree with all that say sell off some lol because I would buy some for sure lol
