cause ya know how when you injure yourself and have a little flap of skin hanging there, so you rip it off? in the coral world, you can grow a whole new coral from that little bit, hence the term "skin flaps" which yes, is a bit creepy when you think of it, but you get a great deal on a smaller bit of coral, which in the end grows to be a big coral so everybody wins!

Christy nailed it pretty good. There is a back story to this but I'm not one to rehash bad blood. I do have to give another vendor credit for passing us the "Skin Flap" idea though.

Pics

Hello,

Sorry about the delay in posting these pics but here they are:

But before I do, please note that I will do my best to co-ordinate the colors that you are wanting. Currently, I have a lot of zoos and when I stare into the tank they all look the same yet different. So if you could please order by color from skirt in, this will help my brain immensely.

These are not going to be WYSIWYG and the "Flaps' will be minimum 10+ polyps and are mounted on Zeo Rocks.

Group buys encouraged to help save on shipping.

These Zoos have been acclimatized for a long time now so they will not shrink and die. However, they are very sensitive to cold temps that can be caused during shipping and when they get cold they are susceptible to fungal disease.

So, If you see any white fungus on them let me know ASAP and I will tell you how to treat them using API Furan 2.

LOL, here I always thought it was more a jokey sort of thing

You should see the extreme skin flap I saw on RC the other day, seriously ONE POLYP. It looked like some sort of lokani but I dont' even know how the guy got it glued to the plug, he must have had some ultrafine tweezers or something. I dont' know if he had it for sale but he posted it and a pic of his 6 polyped red planet. Crazy stuff.

Ten polyps isn't a skin flap, its an actual frag

Borderjumper 10-10-2009 04:18 AM

Ive sent Paul a PM with the ones I want.

I will be willing to head up a Victoria group order.. just let Paul know what you want.. pay him and then he can ship me one box and we will split the shipping. Shipping is only $15-20 or Harbour air.. so its little of nothing if we go 4-5 ways. Since they are zoas I can hold them for my up island buds if they want any too.

Just let me know whos in

Yeah, the frags in the states are getting really tiny. It makes my frags look almost like colonies. but they aren't.

I think it would be very difficult to cut a 6 polyp Red Planet. Where does the glue go?

How are your corals doing BTW?

Mine are doing great!! I've been trying to get some good photos of them but my camera just washes out the colors. That blue one is super vivid though. I love it!

Holy Snap, that's really small. It looks like a fish pooped on the frag plug.

Haha...

I've got so many people asking me for that blue coral, it is super nice.

So sorry...kinda hijacked my own thread.

Hi Mega,

Thank you so much for taking the time to come out and see me. I know it's a long way from Richmond, especially in this awful weather and rush hour traffic.

Keep me updated on the Blues.

Thanks again.
