WLA Finals
The Western Lacrosse Association Finals begin tonight in Coquitlam at 7:45pm. http://www.theboxrocks.com/schedule.asp
I don't know how many of you follow box lacrosse but this match up between the Victoria Shamrocks and Coquitlam Adanacs features some of the best players in the world. Victoria recently added Jim Veltman and Kyle Couling to their line-up. Hopefully Coquitlam gets John Grant Jr. back because I tell you, this guy's stick skills are absolutely amazing. The winner of this series (best-of-seven) will play host to the Ontario Lacrosse Association champion in the Mann Cup. |
Well I'm probably talking to myself on this one but Victoria had a huge come from behind win last night. Coquitlam led 6-1 after the first period and 8-4 going into the third. Kelusky, Grant and Curt Malawsky led the way. In the third Tavares, Veltman, Ward and Derek Malawsky put on a show. Final: Victoria 11-9. Veltman scored a goal that just left me shaking my head and Tavares put on a clinic in the third.

Victoria takes a 2-0 lead with a 13-6 win over Coquitlam. Boooooo. Game 3 goes Saturday.
|
yup, second game was good, I think I smell a sweep
|
Did you go Steve? I heard Coquitlam played awful in game 2, they'll be different tonight though.
|
nope saw bit and pieses of it on the local channel
Steve |
Well I'll give you the goods after the game tonight. I still can't get over all the talent these two teams put on the floor.
|
Victoria 14, Coquitlam 10. Curt Malawsky led the way for Coquitlam with five points while younger brother Derek had seven for the Shamrock. Bummer for the majority of lacrosse fans because the Mann Cup will be on the Island. We won't get to see any of this awesome lacrosse. I assume it'll be Brampton coming back here and they have a hell of a team too. Should be a good Mann Cup, wish I could watch it.

I wish I could.

Victoria took the series in five games and will hot the Brampton Excellsiors in the Mann Cup Championship. Coquitlam had too many injuries and no secondary scoring. I do have to say that even on one leg John Grant Jr. scored a goal in game five that left the whole crowd in awe. He was about 60 feet out and scored with a behind the back shot. A couple of moments later he scored another from the opposite side of the floor again with a behind the back shot.

You still talking to yourself down here ?....
|
Well Steve seems half interested . It's such a great sport, y'all don't know what you're missing!
