feeding
Do you guys feed your refugiums directly? Wondering how all those pods and worms get food etc.
|
Jack, I feed my refugium 3 nights a week with golden pearls and/or newly hatched brine shrimp. It's growing in bug population very well.

Golden pearls are Mail Order, right, Brad? I have to buy an air pump for a friend from JL. I will pick up some eggs and start a hatchery. |

Refugium is generally another tank with water from the main tank pumbed to it. Usually algae is encouraged to grow and the pods(sand bugs) live there. The idea is that the refugium can soak up the extra nutrients and help repopulate your pods in the main tank that are eaten by fish. Plus better stablization in water parameters due to the extra water volume.
