My Other Hobby

Well it's not reef related, but you can smell the salt air. LOL!
Just finished this at a friends house after about a month of after work sessions.
It's a present for his wife when she gets home from back east.

I like it.

Fantastic! The integration of the real foliage on the borders looks so natural, it really gives the whole mural more life.

The planter box in the front even looks like another isle. Well done!

Chaloupa 06-04-2009 05:01 AM

OMG that is fantastic!!!!! HOLY!!!

marie 06-04-2009 05:14 AM

that is somewhat awesome

...ok more then somewhat.
That could be more then a hobby, that could pay for your fish tanks and then some.

How will it hold up to rain/sun?

Scavenger 06-04-2009 04:44 PM

Thanks all for the kind words. It's my first attempt at a mural and by far my largest piece at 6'X25' . I'm used to 2x3 canvas at biggest.
Muck, I used exterior grade acrylic and once baked on for a week will be coated with protective varnish.

PoonTang 06-04-2009 05:38 PM

Wow totally awesome. Now are you going to do an outdoor pond right in front of it?

Myka 06-04-2009 06:19 PM

Delphinus 06-04-2009 07:19 PM

Dude, you willing to come out to Calgary a few nights after work??? Oh man that is really awesome. I've always wanted to do stuff like that, but lack the .. um .. actual talent part.

workn2hard2day 06-04-2009 07:28 PM

lastlight 06-04-2009 07:42 PM

Amazing way to relax in the yard! Reminds me of drake lake from wave race 64. You news a skidoo parked in front of that beauty.

Scavenger 06-04-2009 08:32 PM

Thank you all again. I'm a bit blown away by the reviews. I expected a couple "not bads".

Delphinus 06-04-2009 10:11 PM

One of us is suffering from too much sleep deprivation. I've read this a few times over and I don't have any idea what it means. I understand each word on its own, but not in the order they're in...
