My new water box

Well I guess I should start a new build/move/upgrade thread. Upgrading from a 120g to a 168g 48"w x 30"d x 27"h. It has a 40g sump and a 20g ATO tank, ER180 3L zeo reactor, 1L carbon reactor, mag18 return, 2x vortech MP40W, 2x K4, 1 K3, external overflow with 2 x 1-1/2" drain lines, euro braced, black silicone, 2 x 1" return holes drilled in the top side's, black acrylic back. I estimate the true volume to be about 150g.

So far I have 2 casualties, my purple milli, thats due to the fact that my nem sat on it all night and stung the crap out of it...... 1 scooter blenny, and that is due to the fact he buried himself in the sand and he was MIA during the move and i found him when i took the garden hose to the old tank to clean it up. I still have to do some minor stuff, trim, fan grills, and more pics as my camera died. The corals have been placed from the big mass on the right side. I will get some close ups some time this week. So anyway here is some pics of the new tank

Stand, double 2x6 around the top, 3 2x4 for each leg, 3/4" ply top and bottom.

fishytime 05-19-2009 03:31 AM

Sweeeeeeeeeet man....that didnt take long...you been going hard on it or what?

24storm 05-19-2009 03:36 AM

Looks good Scott

parkinsn 05-19-2009 03:36 AM

Well i started the stand about a month ago. Tank got here last week...??? Filled her up this week, took about 4 days just to get it circulating and i brought over about 100g from the old tank. Treated my LR while i had it out, because of the flat worm epidemic here in cowtown. Pitched most of the water that i made all week and the bucket of salt that was in it .

Looks awesome. That blue carpet is huge.

Pazil 05-22-2009 10:24 PM

Scott that is :mrgreen:AWESOME!!, Congrats on the new setup!!! Keep the pics coming. I love the rock work!!!!! Dam man now I think I have to go bigger........B@ST@RD!!

parkinsn 05-22-2009 10:42 PM

Thanks Lawrence, it doesn't look it but the rock work is really open underneath and i tried to keep it open at the top or my tangs once they get bigger and the coral starts to take off. I guess you will just have to keep up with the jones's  once you get the seahorse operation/frag tank going you will have a pretty sweet set up going. BTW how IS that coming along?

Tyson, its not even fully expanded in that pic, its close to 16" when its fully out

I will have some close ups up this weekend as i will have my buddies camera at my disposal, and it takes sweet pics.

fishytime 05-23-2009 02:40 PM

Holy crap Scott...das is lookin guut.....I6" when expanded:shocked!: Talk about wall to wall carpeting:mrgreen: Envious of your tang selection.

I would love if it split, then i would have some more room for corals  You are first on the list if it does decide to split. BTW I got the wave box working a little better, i think the vortechs are too strong for it though. Maybe i should just sell the WB and get more vortechs. Hmmmmm......

Thanks Greg. No biggie on the unmounting, depending on the situation sometimes its better not to have them on plugs

Sharuq1 they are both MP40W's

Two or three more should do the trick. May as well grab a battery back up while you are at it. You have a couple grand laying around waiting to be dumped into the tank don't you?
