Got 2 Pink Skunk Clowns (A. perideraion) that are currently hanging around a branching Euphyllia sp. on the left. Hopefully they will check out the Carpet in the next couple of days or so...

Christy - yeah it is amazing, and the photos don't even capture it, really.

Jon - it's now starting to dig in, the whole foot is sloped and the lead edge is displacing substrate.

It's also attaching to the rock just behind. Hopefully it doesn't move that one - it has a fair bit of weight on it. Structural, you might say.

(Don't underestimate her ability to topple structural rocks! You may wish to consider epoxying some of the neighbouring rocks together if you feel they're at risk..)

As for looking happy, which is more important, gross watts of lighting or PAR? The 175 MH better than 220W mixed-K PCs?

I'll take a closer look at the rock structure tonight. It is recently set, and seemed good and solid - no epoxy anywhere thoiugh (yet).

Yeah, down it comes ... (as soon as I get 5 free minutes.) It still feels odd though!! She was in that spot for almost 3 years.

If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say "food". :razz: As for the difference in lighting, I guess we'll find out! :biggrin:

Oh come on, the fish are smarter than THAT! They haven't gone near it!
You can see them eyeing it warily from a safe distance, though... :biggrin:

(the chromis stay near the surface, and the YT damsel is too smart, but we can always hope - :eek: )

My understanding is that carpets often eat fish. I think DJ88 can confirm this!!

Do chromis drift when they sleep?

No they are pretty rigid and aware when the sleep. mine sleep in my sps or behind the overflow.

Absolutely Brad! (But maybe it would be better to say "sometimes eat aquarium fish.") They have a well-earned reputation, and are adapted for taking small fishes that hop onto them from the substrate, mainly. I plan for mine to eat fish up to twice a week, but the frozen-food kind...

I "hope" that the fishes in with it continue to be wary, but from accounts of Carpet owners, I expect that there will be incremental losses over time.

Still pretty cool, though...
