My 150g Clown Condo Reef is finally on track

Well, after waiting 4 months to get back in to my flooded house, I finally have my 150g setup.

Thought I'd share some pics and update the progress of the tank periodically.

Also just found a strawberry crab in my tank. :) Must have been a hitchiker that I never noticed until tonight. :)

Blue-Wolf 06-29-2009 11:41 PM

The Tang and Triggers, and whatnot are constantly picking at it. :) I have large amounts of Macro-Algae to trim again as well. :)

Red Deer Reptiles 06-30-2009 06:43 AM

algae

what kind of algae is that in your tank?

Blue-Wolf 07-01-2009 01:33 AM

I'd have to classify it all, but I have green Macro Algae, Hair Algae, Some kind of Hard coral type, a bunch of fern looking ones, blue/green/purple, etc. :)

StirCrazy 07-01-2009 02:37 AM

what are the dimentions of the tank, I have been looking at a tank at petsmart that is a 150 but I am not sure if I can drill it or not..

Steve

Dimensions of the 150g are 48 x 24 x 31 for the main tank. The Sump is about 30g, the refugium is about 5g, and the frag tank/second refugium is 20g. So basically 205g for the system. :)

Blue-Wolf 08-03-2009 03:25 PM

Caught a pic of a hitchiker in my tank, finally! Been trying to get a shot of it for a while. Been told it was a Strawberry Emerald Crab, but seeing it close now I kind of wonder about that.

the big leafy stuff looks like ulva lactuca (spelling?)
and that crab looks meat-hungry, but probably a scavenger?

Crab is a meat eater, but seen it nip at algae too. More than likely a scavanger, but pretty sure it can catch fish. As for my lownly clown, yeah, the mate passed a while ago. Only fish to survive our flood in January.

BlueAbyss 10-09-2009 08:15 PM

Wow, this looks great, I love the dimensions of your tank (and all the livestock)... the rockscape is mountainous!

Blue-Wolf 10-11-2009 04:19 AM

Ahh, I see. :) I was letting it grow for my refugium, and also for a couple friends of mine as well.

Only let it grow when someone needs it tho. :) Otherwise, it's gone. :P Like tonight as I just cleaned it all out again. :) Maybe I should look at how to control it other than picking it? :)

banditpowdercoat 10-13-2009 02:08 AM

Check out the links in Myka's sig. SHe's got some good pointers there

fishytime 10-13-2009 03:14 PM

I like the scape man. Gonna be an uphill battle with the GHA methinks.
