Dry Rock

Are you guys expecting to get more dry rock of the different types in anytime soon?

Myka,
I have a bunch of rock from J & L. I think it was called base rock if you are interested let
me know. I have never used most of it. Not sure if this what you are looking for.

Does the new manufactured rock not look so good to you Myka? It's a lot cheaper. They also appear to have the Fiji rock in stock for now. That's what you saw me put in my nano tank.

Myka 04-08-2009 07:04 PM

I have yet to be convinced that any manufactured rocks can hold the anaerobic bacteria colonies that natural rock can. I might just buy a few pounds of the Fiji...it's just kinda boring. Was hoping for some Tonga Shelf or Tonga Branch.

I'm not sure if these guys ship to Canada but their pricing isn't too bad for Tonga.

It is hard to say when we will get the other dry rock in stock since the exporters like to use their permits for live rock. There is more money to be made on live rock and they use the same permits.

The reef saver rock is not manufactured it is old coral mined from the ground. Frankly of all the different types I think the reef saver rock is the best . It just fits together so well that aquascaping is incredibly easy, it almost fits together like a puzzle. The individual pieces of the pukani look slightly cooler in person but they are way harder to aquascape.
