Guaging interest in Florida rics and Jawfish
 

I have an opportunity to make a Caribbean order for ST. Thomas Riciordeas and possibly a few Blue Spotted Jawfish. I would just like to gauge the interest before I go ahead with the order.......

If the rics are unusual colors I may be interested. The blue spot jawfish I will pass on.. even with a full glass top on my tank it somehow jumped. I cant say I know of one person who has successfully kept one from jumpeing for any length of time.

Blue spot jawfish are awesome, and very hard to find here in cowtown. What kind of price are you thinking on them? Pm me if you want.

I wasn't aware that the blue-spotted jawfish are in the Caribbean...or do you mean yellowheaded jawfish, or are you talking two seperate shipments?

If you can get a red St. Thomas Ric, id be interested if the price is reasonable.

both yellowhead and bluespots occur in fully tropical areas. Bluespots occur in the Carribean as well (I don't know if yellowheads do too).

Yellow-heads are a carribean species and the blue-spots comes from the sea of cortez off the west coast of mexico. Some additional info...

Sorry to have hi-jacked your thread Ian. Both are great fish and I would definately be interested if I had my tank up and running. :wink:

oooops, sorry muck, after checking distributions on fishbase I see you're absolutely right. don't how how I got that mixed up before.

ian, sorry for the hijack too. anyways, I have been considering a yellowhead jaw for a new tank I'm setting up... so I'm a tentative yes for now at least :) couldn't justify paying the usual tag on a blue spot though.

Thanks for the input everyone! And no problem with the hijack stuff, there is nothing wrong with making a correction as far as where species are collected!

Not sure on prices yet, I will let you know when I find out more.

What is "St. Thomas Ricordea"? Is that the same as Rhodactis Sanctithomae?
