anyone have the ultimate or great ideas for and pics of their sump maybe with a fuge area

Heres mine. works good, just wish I made the return area bigger so as not to have to top up so often.

Have you checked out some of the build threads. Should be lots of good sump builds in there also.

Heres mine....fuge on the left, return in the middle and skimmer on the right.

a couple of pics ( click the thumb ) of mine. i went with refugium --> return <-- skimmer and it has worked out great for me so far.

fishytime what size is your sump?

forget it i learned how to read, lol. 55 gallon huh, could you possibly give dimensions of sections as well as baffles?

Ok, so why do I not see where the water is being inputed from the DT?

Inlet from the overflow from the display is the 1 1/2" in the upper right hand corner. I hope this pic clears it up, the return is in the upper left hand corner, the pump sits underneath the stand.

Ya, i kind of figured it out after i set it.

hehe the sump input line is hidden behind the skimmer and is inside that 3" pvc pipe with the holes in it. (helps reduce micro bubbles)

This is the perfect reason why people should not post after 6 beers, well at least i shouldn't.

Sure...The sump is 48"x18"x12". the fuge section is 18.5" with a 15" tall baffle....in hindsight I should have made it 14" or so because the 6" drop of water into the return section creates bubbles that occasionally get sucked into the return pump. Not a huge deal but I have to pile up some lr around the return intake to break up the bubbles before they get dispersed in the display.:neutral: The skimmer section is 12.5"( just big enough for my skimmer) and the baffles are 9" tall.
