what's in your overflow

Starting up the new 300:mrgreen: Was thinking of filling the overflow boxes

with sand. Except I already have a RSB running. Then I though fill it with rock rubble. Seems like a waste just to have a durso in the space.

what's in your overflow? Besides Water!!! Nip that in the but right away:razz:

Likely it will fill up with stuff soon enough, seems I always have a layer of detritus in there.I usually vaccum it out every 6 months or so. Other than that its mostly pods and sponges and before I put a layer of gutterguard over the top I was growing some really funky algaes in there

I just can't get deep enough to pull out the corpse.

Yikes! Try a siphon tube, just don't start it near the corpse  Then hold the siphon as you maneuvre the body out of the overflow.

what about a stick with a barb on the end?

digital-audiophile 03-16-2009 01:09 AM

I tried a turkey skewer tied to the end of tongs but there is not a lot of meat left on the corpse to grab a hold of. The bristleworms and crabs that have become trapped in the overflow are slowly making their work on it.

Murminator 03-16-2009 04:52 PM

A pile of bristle worms, feather dusters, and a billion brittle stars

Chaloupa 03-16-2009 05:21 PM

One side an African Flameback Angel and the other a Green Sea Grass Wrasse...sadly I can't get either out...but otherwise, I have nothing else in there....

A white pvc pipe that makes WAY too much noise.
