Looks awesome Brad. Is that a fluorescent green brain coral on the bottom being blocked by an acro? That needs to be more visible.

Sam, yes it is. The acro in front is only there temporarily. It's going to a new home shortly.

newgeek 06-11-2003 08:05 PM

Nice!!

AJ_77 06-11-2003 08:08 PM

Wowee.

Brad, could you remind us of your tank's dimensions?

Aquattro 06-11-2003 08:11 PM

Alan, it's a 155g, 60x24x24.

Samw 06-11-2003 08:21 PM

Brad, you need to add a website with a shopping cart page so we can buy your frags instead of leaving them out on your porch.

You need more corals

Nice tank. How did that cap react to it reaching the surface?

Jack, it hit the surface last month anyway, and it has flattened out across the surface.

Aquattro 06-12-2003 03:12 AM

Here is a pic for Sam. The porch corals.

I think the scientific name for the problem was

"Loweious onspaceious"

Steve

Aquattro 06-12-2003 05:53 AM

Steve is absolutely correct. These are trimmings from some of the faster growing colonies that nobody wanted.

Jack, I only have one colony that will go on this pile due to bugs. The rest were just getting too big.

let me know if you need to dispose anything. that looks like a nice sized colony you pulled out

tank looks great tho. to bad for the "no-more spacious" ...or whatever steve diagnosed you with

Aquattro 06-12-2003 06:09 AM

Jack, that large colony started dying from the middle out. Not enough flow I guess.

Nice Brad  Your reef looks amazing with every new day!

If I make it over next week I will help you out on the lightening of your high Calcium problem

cheers, Rich

Jack 06-13-2003 01:09 AM

dumb question...

could you re-use those frags in your calcium reactor? would it work?

Jack, not a dumb question at all, but no, you can't use them (effectively) in the reactor. They are composed mostly of calcite, which has a lower solubility than aragonite. You end up with the skeletons on the bottom of the reactor when all the aragonite is gone.

Jack 06-13-2003 01:35 AM

makes sense. i figured it wouldnt be possible because the corals would change the form of calcium but curiousity got the best of me

thanks brad

it would be cool if you could! ..harvest your own A.R.M.

Doug 06-13-2003 12:58 PM

Next time, lets box em and get em on a flight for Winnipeg, for me.
