LPS issues

My LPS are suffering.
It started with the tissue on my frogspawn creeping up in little strips.

Now the polyps on my bright green candy-cane has started to recede.

What is going on?

What parameter do you guys want?

fkshiu 03-03-2009 04:28 AM

I find that with euphyllia like frogspawn the usual culprit is too much flow and/or something picking at it rather than parameters. Observe things at night - especially cleaner shrimp.

what are ur Water parameters ?
PH
Calcium
Nitrates
Ammonia
all the goodies...
those things are pretty bullet proof

zazzoo 03-03-2009 06:58 AM

ph buffer..... the powder stuff.... raise it slowly ... check ur hardness too that also plays a big part

Looks nibbled on.

Whatigot 03-03-2009 03:03 PM

definitely looks like an lps eater has been at it...
IF your params are all normal, i would look at the affected corals at night time to see if anything is eating it.

I agree, that looks like it was an entree for something. I believe some people use a red light in their efforts to watch stuff at night without scaring it off right away.

It looks like it may have a brown jelly infection as well. It's kind of hard to tell from the pictures. I have saved corals from that before with a Lugol's dip, then quarantine the coral in a safe location.

Can you tell if there is a brown jelly like substance in the bare skeleton?
