which are the top 5 shops in edmonton to shop for SPS and corals?

big als is overpriced
aquarium enthusiasts has really gone down hill since they changed management.
aqua giant .. well not much there
so I guess that leaves aquarium illusions which isnt bad...

Yeah, I agree, Illusions is probably it. There's Blue World too but not for sps.

Pretty sad, times are tough. Your best bet is to find out what the Canreef members have in there tanks. Or post what you are looking for in the Canreef boards.

ya honestly price wise.. if you're looking for something ask around on the board first. There are a few people who have some awesome stuff at better prices!

I completely agree. I know of one canreef member here in Edmonton who will most likely have a few nice sps frags, contact Karen Marlin. She also has an album in her user profile with some of the frags she had recently.

I've got some coral from Karen. She has a nice selection and much cheaper than stores.

I forgot to mention Little Oceans. I haven't been there since the managment change but I know they had coral.

I have a few pieces too, very nice stuff!! Will get more from her in the future once I decide if I'm going to set up a solana and sell my 90g.

I think the basis of this thread is that John (and possibly myself) would be heading up there to take a look at what's available. I can't speak for him, but I can't guarantee that I would buy anything up there. I have to REALLY like something before I buy it. not saying you guys won't have incredible stuff, I just make no guarantees.

well iam looking for any SPS, frags or colonies. if you have anything, pm me a pic and a price.

I've bought a few fish from Big Als and depending on what fish you want some of the prices aren't too bad. I always enjoy looking around there anyway. Aquarium Illusions has some nice SPS. Blue World is a great store but they haven't had much in stock lately.

the last time I was at little oceans, back in Jan. , they didnt have anything but water in the tanks.
they had no dry goods either .. I dont know how or why they are still open

AI has some great stuff usually. The backroom has some really good stuff. And they QT all thier stuff for 2 weeks.

The store has been sold and there will be new owners taking over in a couple weeks so there'll probably be lots of new stuff soon.

Things are a little bleak at the moment. I used to visit a few shops a couple times a week, now I haven't been in one for more then month.
