Intro

For those of you that do not yet know us, we are an Ottawa Ontario based company that specialized in marine livestock and equipment.

With respect to livestock we at Ottawa Inverts we believe that reef keeping can - and should be - an ethical hobby.

We carefully select each of our livestock suppliers to encourage only the best and most sustainable techniques of collection and propagation, and we encourage the use of substitute materials such as DIY Rock.

If fish are available captive-bred or captive-raised, Ottawa Inverts will not purchase wild-caught specimens.

Marine aquaculture has come along by leaps and bounds over just the last decade, and Ottawa Inverts has made an ongoing commitment to support this developing community.

Our hope is that, as our wonderful hobby evolves, less of the content of our tanks will need to come from our oceans than will come from the tanks of our fellow hobbyists.

For our selection of dry goods we firmly believe in only carrying products that we have tried and used on our own system and have found to be the best product that we can offer you. This is why you will not find 5 types of carbon for example on our shelf. Instead you will find only 2 brands, Two Little fishes and Fauna Marin. Unlike many other brands of carbon, these 2 brands are not washed in phosphoric acid in the manufacturing process and so will not leach PO4 back into your tank. This is just one of many examples of how we select which products to carry on our shelves.

Welcome aboard Patrick. I am confident your commitment to both ethics and quality will be rewarded by the canreef community.

Sweet! Nice looking livestock, you seem to have a great number of clams :)

Might need to get a few people together and make an order :)
