Star Fire first real pictures

Well here you go these are the first pictures of the Star Fire

The model shown here is the prototype but gives a great indication of what to expect.

Full production is now in place and orders are now being taken.

The first picture is belly up showing the large array of reflectors.

In the second shot you can see more clearly the high grade reflectors that wrap the tube sides completely eliminating any side light loss, this is now where you start to see the quality and workmenship

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...t/IMG_0979.jpg

Next shows one of the LED shimmer lights to replicate MH water refraction shimmer. The moon lights will be in this center position also

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...t/IMG_0981.jpg

Here is the top, well ventilated

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...t/IMG_0984.jpg

And a side view of the outlets for the variable cooling fans

This model which is the 39w 6 tube version will be on display at Progressive reef in the next week ;)

So any luck getting a Calgary, Alberta dealer for any of your goods yet? Last time you mentioned that you guys would work on it in mid January.

Aqua-Digital 01-28-2009 09:38 PM

We have Edmonton now covered ;)

Drop us an email at sales@aqua-digital.com for up to date dealer info

Trigger Man 01-28-2009 09:42 PM

What dealer did you get in Edmonton? If I'm up there I'll have to drop by, but Calgary is 3 hours away, so a Calgary Dealer would be appreciated.

Aqua-Digital 01-28-2009 09:45 PM

as I said drop me an email.

we cant promote non sponsors

After hanging my Stealth I can definitely say that having a single cord exiting the fixture is an awesome feature. Looks good! Do you have any on-angle shots...to show some perspective?

Aqua-Digital 01-28-2009 09:47 PM

My photographic skills are somewhat lacking but once the unit is in the hands of progressive Reef and above a tank more photos will follow.

These were taken in 5 mins after the lamp landed in our office

Looks very nice. And it looks like a lot of attention went into the design.

Aqua-Digital 01-29-2009 02:57 AM

Thanks

And this is just the working model prototype, the ONLY one in the world as of today :)

Production is now in full flow though as of 15th Jan right on schedule.

digital-audiophile 01-29-2009 02:59 AM

Looks nice. I'd be interested to find what the price point will be.

Aqua-Digital 01-29-2009 11:44 AM

For pricing talk to the dealers Progressive reef and ocean aquatics have the prices at present

randallino 02-09-2009 12:55 AM

Does the fixture come with bulbs and or can you choose which bulbs it comes with?
Thanks
RC

steve fedyk 02-09-2009 12:59 AM

Are they dimable?

Aqua-Digital 02-09-2009 01:11 AM

The design is defenately better then my Tek5, good job.

Interesting to see what price would be for this unit in 36 and 48 inch.
None of the web sites you mention had these fixtures on them.

Can you elaborate or provide a link?
thx

Aqua-Digital 02-09-2009 01:37 AM

email or call either progressive reef or ocean aquatics for latest pricing

randallino 02-12-2009 05:54 AM

Not sure of their markup? :)

TJSlayer 02-12-2009 02:18 PM

Still no pricing....

My guess is considerably more than a tek fixture... but I guess they could surprise...may want to contact someone in Sask for being a distriibutor as well

Aqua-Digital 02-12-2009 02:25 PM

Yes more than a tec due to the high spec.

Call progressive reef for pricing.

We had the first skid order for the States this week, so the market is hot for them, seems there is a hot market for a very high end high spec T5 fixture in the USA especially.

I am not putting pricing here as last time it started some crazy debate trying to compare against other lamps with less spec in design and componentry.

Pan 02-13-2009 02:36 AM

Looks nice but what does this unit offer over or above the Sfiligoi Stealth? As this brand's quality is almost unchallegened...? Does your unit offer anything this one does not? Etc..

Fauna Marin 02-25-2009 08:10 PM

Hi Pan

The star fire uses different reflector material , cableworks and
also High end ballasts which increases the light output much stronger
We had automatically moonlight and a massive body which is make
of aluminium.
The fan speed is also manual controlable and the Dimmable Versions works with
a new cut off technolgy which protect your tubes and gives a better shelf live

i think the only way to sell high quality lighting is to prove thier quality with proof like par numbers with a certain bulb then thier is facts to prove or disprove claims, not just for these fixtures but any manufacturer making a quality product, shurly designing a new lighting line someone bothered to test them

Aqua-Digital 02-25-2009 11:23 PM

Well what ever anyone thinks about the price clearly fauna have hit the ground running with this one, looks like the market has been waiting for a high end fixture such as this as the manufacture time is back by 6 weeks at present, first crate load hits the USA about mid march :)

Fauna Marin 02-26-2009 04:25 AM

HI

Hmm you realle thing PAR is all ?
then you need to see what PAR is exactly.
it depends on which place you make the measurement
wich bulbs you use ... and a lot of more.

What for an advantage you have if somebody make an test
see of 2 points higher PAR and the lamp is so worse quality that you
need to buy a new one in 1 year cause the fans are to load or the ballast are in a to bad quality

Believe me PAR is not all if you build a lamp like we do you will see
the light output is perfect as possible.

I will send a lamp to Sanjay that he can say something about it
Test from people which i donīt know and which write for their friends or for
our competitiors will surly not be honest enough to make a reliable test.

i have crabs 03-01-2009 04:20 AM

well im just tryin to say if you did some test's with whatever bulbs you decided to use(dosnt really mater) and the same test with maybe a tek fixture or an ati maybe if your fixture is actually putting out better numbers and has extra features that others dont then all it can do is help sales,
you might have had one more but without any proof that your light is gonna be better for me i chose to go with something else even though it was more expencive because its a proven performer

michika 03-01-2009 03:25 PM

Can you share some dimensions on these fixture?

I also second the comments from i_have_crabs. I would be more willing to put down the funds if there were some stats, and/or comparisons on your fixture.

Aqua-Digital 03-01-2009 03:31 PM

With the large numbers being sold right now I do not think you will have to wait too long to get these answers :)

Michika - About time we introduced you to Ultra Clam isnt it

Email me if you want to give it a go and report back
