Chris, looks like you are loosing some color/saturation during upload, just the same as me. I saved those pics to my laptop and viewed them in Photoshop, and the colors are much much better, than the online version.

This is my reasoning why it was happening to me:

"When I was saving them in photoshop, I didn't realized I was saving them with "Embed Adobe sRGB 1998" color profiles... So while it looks good on my own computer, when I uploaded to websites, it was using the embedded color profile which was causing me to loose the accurate color of the photo."

EDIT:
Great photos though! Really like the 2nd shot!

Chowder 01-26-2009 03:55 AM

I also find them much nicer in person.

Chowder 01-26-2009 04:03 AM

I guess these two show polyps

Great picture but with the lighting and it being a macro shot it's tough to do an accurate id, sorry. If you want to email me a picture of the colony I can try my best guess.

Haha, all my pics were older ones, this is what things look like now, during the day anyway.

BTW: That picture is made up of 7 exposures taken at different DOFs and overlapped.

Im not sure i got it at red coral during the boxing day sale. it may be a tri color as its pink in 1 angle green in another and orange in another sooooo?

ther second pic, its notvisable but the hole where the polps come out has a neon green color.

rocketlily 01-30-2009 01:10 AM

Absolutley stunning photos. Here's the information I would like to see when someone posts pictures like these:

Type of camera, brand, lens etc.
Type of lights and bulbs on tank when photo was taken
How much "fixing" was done by computer programs before the picture was posted or is the photo untouched.

I don't know if all these things are to be kept a secret, but it sure would help some of us trying to learn about photography.

ElGuappo 01-30-2009 01:21 AM

my pics are with a olympus SW 720 point and shoot. no photo shop and under 1 10k and 1 fiji purple. yes thats it.

Chaloupa 01-30-2009 01:25 AM

mine was taken with a Nikon D80 with an AF-S Micro Nikkor 105mm

Lights on tank; 2x 400w Aquaconnect 14k
Fixing of pic;uploaded using Picture Perfect from Nikon and all I did was to enhance dark tones...that's it
