They look awesome Eric!
Can you get some really close up pics of them? I am curious to see the texture of them. Are these the kind you can touch or no? |
Very nice!!!
I like frogs, and I love a well done terrarium like yours!! |
if they were wild caught i wouldnt touch them, because they would be poisonous.

Thats really cool.
Can you lick them? |
great pictures, how are the broms doing?
|
the broms are doing well, the red one is loosing a bit of colour but thats due to light, i may put the halide back on and see what happens, it should turn red after that ;).
Thanks, Super7 |
I didn't know that only wild caught darts are poisionous. It must be in something they eat? Very cool. Love the metallic sheen.
|
Yep, it's diet.
Nice viv, what size tank? |
maybe try switching it so the reds up top? did you have heat issues with the halide?

I didnt have heat issues with the halide before just the bulb burnt out and i had the current fixture sitting around.
I have never tried licking my frogs. Its an 18 inch cube from sea star. its either the mites they eat or the ants they eat in the wild that make dart frogs poisonous. Thanks for looking, Super7 |
Nice froggies and a great looking viv!
Did you try any orchids? I've got a few that are still hanging in under a 150w MH except for my favorite the Macodes petola was decimated by a slug. |
i do have a dwarf orchid in my viv, it hasnt grown or died, its just stayed the same, lol, so ill see what happens to it, not going to bother with any more if it doesnt do anything,
Thanks for looking and all the kind words, Super7 |
what do you feed them? and where can a person get them, also how hard are they to keep?
|
I dont find them to hard to keep, but just like reef keeping do you research! I feed hydei and melongaster fruit flies (wingless) and you can get them locally on canadart.org or on this site;

Is there a link you might have to a terrarium Forum?
|
I use this site most often http://www.canadart.org/ , and I also google a lot on the various dart frogs. My mom is a gardener by profesion and my aunt is a master gardener so I go to them for plant questions as they seem to know a lot.
