Frozen Frags
Has anyone ever had frags recover when they were encased in slush or frozen. What did you do for them? Right now I just have them floating in a QT tank trying to thaw.
I have to ask, how did that happen?
UPS lost the shippment, suppost to be here Tues. By 8:00 that night I got worried and checked the tracking again. It said it was delivered at 5:11 but nothing was here. Called UPS to find it. Got up just before 2 this afternoon and found a frozen package on my front step with no knock or Doorbell.

Being that corals are alive I would have to say your frags are toast.
Geez, sorry about your luck, that totally sucks
ya I have to agree but still have to try. They were all the nice frags from Wickeds last auction.
Oh man, I hope they were insured. Was whatching that auction. Lovely pieces
Wow, that sucks. I absolutely loathe shipping with UPS.
Aww man, that SUX. I would be Extremely pi$$3d. I'd be tearing a strip off UPS, insurance or not.
Well they have been floating for an hour, Droped the temp in the QT about 2 deg. I'm pretty sure the Torch and Frogspawns are gone and the Cyphastreas have what looks like brown tissue floating in the water. All others are hard to tell. Acans and Favias have lost all color. One zoo frag all closed up.

Could UPS have left it on your step Tuesday? I seriously doubt UPS was making any deliverys on New Years Day. Could a neighbor have signed for it and left it out? |
I hate UPS. Never frozen frags but have had some solid test kits.
Yes I was shocked to see it today. All I know is it was not here when I went to bed this morn but it was when I woke up this afternnon. Their tracking said it was left on front step at 17:11 (I was home). What address they left it at I don't know but they did have my correct address. I can't even find out if it was the Driver that dropped it off or not cause UPS is closed today.

Sorry to hear ... hopefully insurance will cover your loss.
I've had issues with couriers in the past one even signed my name for me and left a laptop on my step - I complained and I don't think he works there any more. Not sure what delivery service/terms you had but the following document outlines the terms of service for UPS http://www.ups.com/media/en/ca/terms_service_ca.pdf Page 12 item 18 is quite concerning for any livestock deliveries ...page 13 & 14 has details on loss/damage and claims. |
Well I'm sure you all can guess the smell from opening the bags, everything has the brown film over them. The only thing at the moment that looks like it stands a chance at life is a zoa frag.
Sounds like it may have been delivered to a neighbors house and they may have brought it over once they realized/found a box that wasn't theirs.
I have had purolator do that a few times with packages. Only courier I have ever had good luck with so far is FedEx. |
I honestly hate UPS at times
my last wicked order the frags were in town for 9 hours before they were delievered. And to top it off the guy came 2 min before the "promised before..." |
