Boxing Day Sale Purchases....

Let's hear 'em/see 'em!

About 30 Trochus, 1 Sand Sifter Goby, 2 Bangaii and 1 PJ Cardinal, Open Brain Coral and one of the biggest Fox Corals I've seen in a long time...

Carmen 12-27-2008 12:58 AM

Incredible sale! Thanks Kevin and Doug (and Michelle and Garrett for bagging).
Got an awesome Onespot Foxface and a beautiful HUGE Foxcoral, urchin and 30 snails.
Thanks again!

Rbacchiega 12-27-2008 02:33 AM

ha! I actually think you were the one that grabbed the fox coral I wanted *shakes fist* but I'm still uber happy with mine regardless...must be near 5 inches already

bigmac 12-27-2008 03:03 AM

Garlic Extreme and 3 boxes of Reefers best salt. No more livestock until I catch the predator in my tank (probably pistol or mantis as it ripped one of my algae crabs out of its shell and ripped it in half). Put the DIY trap out tonight for the first time so we'll see what happens.

Great sale though! I wouldn't have guessed that many people could have fit in the store. I was giddy that there was no line up.......until I opened the door!

Carmen 12-27-2008 03:04 AM

Funny:surprise: - sorry:wink:. Yes mine too and great coloring already! Ya I acted quick cuz I knew it wouldn't be there for long! There were plenty of GREAT pieces! I only wish I had saved a lot more CASH for boxing day!

Rbacchiega 12-27-2008 03:06 AM

might actually head up there tomorrow to pick over what's left...the two corals I bought are incredible...

Carmen 12-27-2008 03:15 AM

Sale still on tomorrow or back to regular? Don't imagine there's too much left if the day continued on as busy as it started!

Rbacchiega 12-27-2008 03:42 AM

as far as I know it's back to normal, but I'm kind of hoping that people bought more product than anything...hopefully there's still some nice LPS left...some of the metalic brains were out of this world! I wouldn't mind grabbing a lobo or two if there's any of those left or even some acans or blasto...I highly doubt it, but you never know!

fishytime 12-27-2008 03:51 AM

First off Id like to apologize to anyone who may have got lost in the shuffle when the mayhem ensued. Both Kevin and I thought we would be busy, but we had no idea it would be that busy. Great to hear about all the happy reefers out there, but sorry guys, this was a "boxing day" sale not a "boxing week sale". And there is still plenty of sweet pieces left.

Doug

Rbacchiega 12-27-2008 04:44 AM

most excellent...see you guys tomorrow LOL...I still have some christmas money burning a hole in my pocket as we speak

karazy 12-27-2008 05:00 AM

haha, next boxing day i'll be sure to get to red coral bout 15 minutes before the store opens:lol:

Rbacchiega 12-27-2008 05:21 AM

was there 20 minutes before the store technically opened...and waited in line LOL who woulda thought a line!

karazy 12-27-2008 07:07 AM

haha, wow. maybe i should just set up a tent and stay the night before:lol:

Rbacchiega 12-27-2008 07:11 AM

...it was pretty intense, but everyone was great even if the store did feel a little like a sardine can. Kevin Doug et al did a great job of getting everybody what they needed and everyone was extremely patient...

nice to see a few old faces there too!

karazy 12-27-2008 07:13 AM

sounds like it was a good time.

thank god reefers are generaly nice people, otherwise that would have been insane.

fishytime 12-27-2008 02:23 PM

We were worried that there may be a wal-mart type incident. Darn blue light special on snails

michika 12-27-2008 02:50 PM

I am so jealous. I am still really sick, and can't do much yet. I have to say those deals were awesome. I would have been there if I could do anything.

Psyire 12-27-2008 07:57 PM

How much did you pay? I am looking to pick up 4 of the 6125 (non-controllable) in the near future but if the 6105s are a really good price, then i might change my mind...

Roughly $775 for both, from J&L.

RSM 12-28-2008 05:35 AM

I purchased a Koralia 4 and a VERTEX Refractometer. Sweet Deal!

Alberta-newb 12-28-2008 08:18 PM

I came home with the Potters angel..finally! I'd been up nights debating this purchase since Red Coral got it in, when he was still there with a full store I decided it was fate:mrgreen: Also came home with an octo I'd been eyeballing for a month or two...very pleased with both!

Again thanks! You guys..and gals! are wonderful.

EDIT: I'll link to JDigital's awesome photo of him since my photography skills suck...thanks Josh ;)

*drool*
I gave that one a good two or three looks when I was there, but the tanks just not ready for an angel...if I do go with an angel.... great pick up though!

Tom believe it or not, we had two of them and this was the left over fish. The nicer one sold a few days before.

Mmmmmm...tunze...das is gut! Some pretty serious hardware there, I'd say a lot less less ghetto! Wavebox next?

I bought one of those RO units this week and love it! Filled my SW storage tank and started flooding the floor in one afternoon!

Noooo! That's like dating a gorgeous woman, and then someone telling you her sister is even hottter! Tom, you're absolutely right, it is fish like this that keep people in the hobby!

Rbacchiega 01-01-2009 06:45 PM

there's nothing wrong with a ghetto tank.....

fishytime 01-02-2009 10:29 PM

Not sayin there is anything wrong with "ghetto", my whole setup is pretty ghetto compared to some. My auto top off right now consists of a bucket and an AC ph plugged into a power bar.... so I guess not really auto huh?

Rbacchiega 01-02-2009 11:04 PM

I don't even have one. I should, but I don't. You wouldn't think the water would evaporate so much out in the quanset, but they do. I'm adding water to the two ponds and the 8 foot every day...grrrr
