~New Pics added~ New inventory *December 6th 2008*
Hey everyone,
We have just spent the evening unloading a shipment of corals, fish, inverts and live rock  We took some shots while getting things into the tank and thought we would post a quick update with some pictures. We received a great assortment of SPS, LPS, Zoa's, Ric's, some really nice fish and inverts (including two Mantis Shrimp) and tons more. So here are just a few pictures that we will update tomorrow with names. http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...ictions/10.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...ictions/11.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...ictions/12.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...ictions/13.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...ictions/14.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...ictions/15.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...ictions/16.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...ictions/17.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...dictions/6.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...dictions/7.jpg Continued... |

Thanks for looking  Aquatic Addictions |
Although those are some nice pics you took Nikki, they don't do the corals justice. This whole shipment was absolutely INSANE!! Every single acro has wicked colouring and there are some huge colonies aswell. It's going to be tough picking the ones that I want. Thats the only complaint, is that there is too much selection and it is very hard to limit yourself.
I would suggest that if you are in the area today, to stop by and take a look at these EXTRAORDINARY CORALS!! |

As for selection, ha ha ha. Variety is the spice of life isn't it? ;) Will power and self control my friend  |
Those corals look great. I hope you have some stuff in stock like that when I'm there in two weeks. BTW what brands of salt do you carry?

Adiction
Hi, my name is Keith "Haloreef" and I have an adiction, an Aquatic Adiction. I can not seem to stop buying SPS corals. It is starting to affect my home life. I did not get home untill 3:30am. this morning because I was helping unload the shipment at A.A. Well, at least my wife knows where I am at all times!
I do not know if any of this shipment lost any color in shiping but man is it bright and the photos do not do justice to the SPS. and some of the colonies are huge! Granulosa, Suhorasohni, Torts, Tenuis, Montis and stuff I don't have a clue! Yet! Thanks again guys! You know me "DaNiki"... see you later today! Keith. |
Nice stuff. Any fish? And what was the dates again that is hard to ship by plane? I thought Dan told me from Dec.14-Jan.5 By the way this is Bill from P.G. and was wondering if my fish that I ordered came in.
|
Just got home from there. That was my first time going there and let me tell you it won't be my last. Very nice people, and great prices on there corals. I highly recommend paying them a visit.
|
HOLY COW!!!! is the most polite way i can put it. i have never and i mean never come home with such a big box of stuff. every killer was a 'oh my god look at that' even with the box i took it doesnt look like i even made a dent. the sps is by the far the hottest shipment i've seen. every piece fully extended, rich color and no sign of death. there was even a colony with a family of acro crabs. i got some wicked rhodactis and zoas for the new tank too. i gotta say the pics do not do justice. absolutely well worth the drive to see guys.

Makes me wish I lived closer, i guess I'm just gonna have to hope that one of the shops here buys from the same supplier and gets some of that great coral here sometime soon.

Colin,
It's always a pleasure watching you 'like a kid in a candy store' checking out every coral and making decisions . You may have to sign up with Keith for meetings in the future:razz::mrgreen: I am glad you claimed those Rhodactis because if you hadn't you know where they would have ended up ;) You picked some fantastic pieces!! |

Some New pics
We wanted to thank everyone that came out to the store today. We really didn't expect to have such a busy day and thank you all for being patient while we were running around
We did manage to get a few more photo's this evening. I do agree that the photo's don't do the colors justice but it does give you an idea :) http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...s/IMG_4038.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...s/IMG_3968.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...s/IMG_3976.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...s/IMG_3980.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...s/IMG_3984.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...s/IMG_3987.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...s/IMG_3989.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...s/IMG_3982.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...s/IMG_3897.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...s/IMG_3908.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...s/IMG_3997.jpg Thanks for looking :) |
Dan and Nicki at AA
Yes, I agree Haloreef does need a intervention. His problem is coral. When he comes home from the store he is " Happy as a clam " "Guess what" he says - an proceeds to educate me on coral and bugs in the water etc etc. (I groan but he can seem to hear me)
If he is not at the store he's saying " I have to check canreef, it will only be a minute" Well a minute in his head is 45 minutes for the rest of us! -obviously dinner gets cold as hes checking out canreef -House work does not get done. Coming home late 3 to 4 days a week, because he's at AA. -He was only was able to get two snow tires onto his car, well thats not going to work out to well now - is it? -he can not remember what day it is ! - not getting enough sleep ! - has only purchased one christmas present - Humph! - denying he has a problem (while talking to me )and then admitting online he has a problem - sheesh! I wish I could put a device on the car so it has to bypass the store - I need a "lock" on the computer...oh who am I kidding ...he just went to the "gym" and I can bet he is on his way to AA right now. I will start sending grocery money with him so you can feed him. bye for now, Wife of Haloreef. ( probablly see you this afternoon as usual , guess you should show me how to work the till! ) |
keith you enable my addiction to hobby. if i just stay away from you i would be fine, but no you are just a big leach and mooch of AA like me and we just feed off each other. no i just need to learn to distract you long enough so i can steal the 'sweet' one off ya at the store.

Addiction
C'mon Colin, I enable you? I think it may be all Dan and Nikki's fault.
You may be right though, you and I will have to stop going into the store at the same time. It's just a control issue. Hey if you can't be bothered to show up on the nights the shipments come in you will have to settle with what I pass over. I will bring in your frag of Christmas Tree Milli. this week end. I was in on Sunday again still tons of great stuff up for grabs. Man I hate Mondays. AA is not open and it's like going cold turkey! Keith. |
So this is where Hidden Reef used to be?
Did the store layout change much? |
it is in the same location. the layout is somewhat the same but looks alot different. they are changin up the tanks. where the planted tank used to be they are turning into saltwater. its gonna be killer. they are replacing the lighting on the tanks, there is too much to list. its awesome in there. you gotta check it out, i'm addicted
|
Colin and Keith...lol.. you two crack me up
Argon.. The layout is the same (for now) , however we have done extensive work to all the fish and coral systems. We have re-done almost all of the plumbing, added new skimmers, new lighting, RO Units, reactors etc. We had to have custom supports made for the larger tanks and finished installing those last week (that was a job that we never want to do again!) . All the 'Behind the scenes' equipment that keeps the tanks in healthy working order were our first priority. We have plans in the works for alot of changes over the coming months :) |

Wha kind of (blennie?) is this? I really like it. |
It is a dot-dash Blennie (ecsenius lineatus) from Sri Lanka. They have tons of personallity and are pretty entertaining to watch :)

Just for fun
And just for fun we were playing around with an underwater camera tonight. It is a Pentex Optio W30. Haven't figured out how to use it yet but it is kind of neat. A little weird to put a camera into a tank but we will be playing around with it over the next few days for sure, and hope we can get some photo's
