Tunze Nano Wavebox

Well Folks

I forked out the cash and got myself a nano wavebox. Let me tell you it is an excellent peice of a equipment for a 4 foot tank, taking sometime to set the wave frequence but when I got it, it's a gentle roll back and forth making the coral's come alive.
Well worth it ;)
Comes with everything you need no need to add on anything

Cheers

Chad

I also picked up the Nano wavebox yesterday. As soon as i got to work this morning ups showed up and the first thing i seen was two big Tunze box's. I knew it had to be them. I had been on Jeff's case every day at work for at least the last few months . Hooked it up and i am very impressed for its size. got a video to share with it as well :)

Nice video Sym, you have the wave box on a 3 foot tank I assume ?
looks like it works prefectly :)

symplistik 10-07-2008 03:37 PM

yes it is a 3 foot. took me a few minutes to dial it in as well. but i am getting a nice 1.5 - 2inch rolling wave out of it now. very happy with it. worth the wait

awesome reviews guys, great video too.
I'm buying one.

ponokareefer 10-07-2008 04:13 PM

Did you see a lot of debris stir up from under your rocks when you first set it up?

Kalifornia 10-07-2008 04:26 PM

I did see alittle Pono, but not as much as I thought I would.

Wavebox

I also purchased a nano wavebox yesterday! WOW all I got to say...... small craft warning in full effect:lol:. I will post a video when my lights come on.

Just wondering if anyone has used these on a 4 foot dual overflow tank. I have an Oceanic 120. The issues I am worried about are the wave hitting the glass centre brace, and the wave making the overflows/standpipes function irregularly causing noisy overflows.

slakker 10-08-2008 04:15 AM

I just set mine up on a 4 foot 72G... awesome!!! I put mine right beside the overflow and right away, I see some debris get stirred up... I then used the turkey baster on all the rocks and it kept it suspended and can see it flow out! I'm getting about 1 inch wave... Awsome... or did I say that already? :)

One funny thing happened tho my photo-cell plug was deffective on my controller. figured it out last night ! Took the controller back to JL today and Jeff gave me a brand new one no problems. Thanks jeff great customer service:biggrin:

Full tank shot. not very clear  I am the only guy with a Cannon G7 who cant take nice pictures/videos of his tank. if anyone else uses this camera could you give me some tips:biggrin: thanks!!!!!!!

That looks great ! and so does your tank. How do I sneak one of those into my tank without the wife knowing?

Treebeard 10-08-2008 02:52 PM

Awesome piece of eqiuipment! What are the dimensions of the wave box?

Kalifornia 10-08-2008 03:15 PM

Sweet Tank Al ;)

The wave box is actually very very small I was surprised

symplistik 10-08-2008 03:19 PM

dims are 4.9L x 2.1W x 8.6H ( inch's )

Aquattro 10-08-2008 05:26 PM

I keep thinking about getting one of these, but I'd have to rework my overflow to allow for the drop in water height I'd need. What is your guesstimate on the height of this wave at the end of the tank?

Whatigot 10-08-2008 05:54 PM

I know AL was concerned about the same thing and we even looked into drilling his overflow to allow water to pass through it at a lower level.
He has about an inch of play along the top of his tank and doesn't have any issues with the wavebox so far.
His is a standard 50 gallon and i know he tried as hard as he could to try and get the wave to come over the top of his tank with no success.

I'm sure he'll add to this...

Tank looks great Al, you've come a long way from the aquapod I sold you....

....

Unfortunately the water in my Seastar tank is touching the top trim, I would have to mod my over flow somehow.

symplistik 10-08-2008 06:46 PM

i am getting about 1.5 - 2 inch wave in my 70 gallon ( 3 foot tank )

In this video I show my water level when the WAVEBOX is off and then on. I also thought I was going to have to drill my overflow. The water movement I am getting is insane but as hard as I tried I could not get the water to go over the edge of my tank. I think i could do it if my overflow wasn't so thirsty:lol:. At first the wavebox looked kinda big in the corner of my tank but now I am getting used to it. Keep in mind I only have a 50 Gallon. Another reason I was so happy with this purchase is when I upgrade my tank in the future my wave box can accommodate up to a 150 Gallon.

Also Thanks for the compliments on my tank !!!!!!! Its still under construction and when its done I will post some pics.

My tank was also touching the top trim !!!!!!!!!!!! I had no problems.
