Glad to See you liked it Doug :)
Let me know when you are ready for the sump and Ill have it ready. Anything else I can do let m eknow. Dan |
Please keep us posted on how you like the Aquacare. First person I've seen around here to pull the trigger on one of those. I've read a bit about them and they seem pretty appealing to me.
|
WOW. Nice toys.
|
Yah I will keep everyone posted on how the reactor works. It is a well built piece of equipment my only gripe so far is they test run them befor they ship them out. Dont get me wrong I think that is great you know for a fact it will work when you get it but they pack them wet they wrap them in shrink wrap when you open them up they are soaking wet and smell musty hey I know this is not the end of the world but a $.05 cap would keep the water contained. Also because of the excellent packing one of the lines got kinked so I will have to replace that again no biggie.
|
Well an update on the new sump room got it all painted out last night put in the light fixture and all the cover plates and did some caulking hooked up the dehumidistat for the exhaust fan everything is coming along nicely
|
Do you need a kalk reactor running with the unit? I'd imagine with the higher ph coming out the need would be much less?
|
Give your wife a huge hug & sloppy kiss man. Those are some SWEEEEET toys you got there & a sump room too!
I vote that your wife hold a seminar for OUR wives:wink: Anthony |

They could think of it as an investment in: "How to Keep Your Man at Home. Buy him so many toys he has to stay home to maintain them." |

|
Another update the door is on so I can now continue just have to finnish sealing it up put in a vent to let fresh air in this will help the exhaust fan work better. Then the fun begins setting up all the equipment
|
OK it has been a while This project got put on hold While I was battling with Kidney stones. But it has made some progress I have taken a week off to get it finished. All the painting is done the flooring and base boards are in the fresh air vents are in. I ran the fresh water line for the Ro/Di unit, the drain line for water changes and the waste water from the Ro/Di unit today. the stand for the sump is in place I built it about a month ago. Hopefully I will get it up and running tomorrow. I would of got a lot more done but the wife pulled me away from my sump room the build a play area for the cats (cat land)
this is cat land it is on the wall across form my sump room http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0732.jpg the outside of the sump room (view from cat land) http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0723.jpg looking in the door at the stand http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0724.jpg View from the end of the stand http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0726.jpg Good look at the Ro/Di unit from the door you can see where the drain enters the room it is the thing with the rag hanging out if it ( The water waste and supply lines will be tied up when it is done) http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0729.jpg This is one of 2 fresh air vents this is in the corner above the sump and there is one under the sump as well http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0728.jpg Nikki Told you I would post some updated pics (one day) Hope this keeps you Happy for awhile |
Cat land looks fantastic Doug!! lol
Everything is coming along nicely! :) We were out that way last night and thought about stopping by but ran out of time :( I can't wait to see everything up and running. If you need a hand getting the sump in there, let us know. Keep the updates coming! |
Well it was another 16 hour day yesterday working on the sump room connection almost have it hooked up but ran into a few snags at about 1:30 am so we had to admit defeat and go to bed. Got a solid 4 1/2 hours of sleep. Went out and picked up some more plumbing parts for todays effort
well this Where we started for the day Removing the old sump from under the tank. Yah I know what you are thinking you should leave it there and turn it into a Fuge but I needed it out of the way to drill the holes in the floor to run the plumbing down stairs http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0739.jpg Well I tried to cut the seams to save the glass but man they build these tanks tough so we taped it up and broke out the BFG ( BIG F*@#$&% Hammer ) http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0743.jpg The point of no return http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0744.jpg The first two runs down stairs http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0747.jpg The sump in place on the stand http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0748.jpg Pump in place under the stand http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0750.jpg Pump plumbed in and return line running back up to the display http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0756.jpg Magie Hard at it supervising the upgrade http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0751.jpg |
wow...looks like your house is home to a couple varieties of fat cats...lol
I love to see such careful planning backed up by very nice execution. congrats on your awesome wife too. |
Too cool! I had considered doing a series of cat ramps as well for my cats in my last house. I had seen some lady's website and she went way overboard with it and I felt inspired. Glad I didn't as we decided to move. So far a 7 foot cat tower upstairs is as crazy as I've gotten...

Looks like everything is coming together nicely! How many cats do you have???
|
We have 12 cats ranging from less then one year to over 12 years old ( human years ) they are all indoor cats. Never a dull moment around this house.
12 cats 14 rabbits 3 guinea pigs 2 fish tanks one LARGE koi pond too many birds And one empty wallet :( PS. all of the above are in the house |
How come you don't have 6 kids?
|
Victory is mine :)
I got the sump room up and running after a week of 16 hr days and sleepless nights it finally came to life last night or should I say this morning at around 1AM. Only one little leak on the outlet of the return pump. I will deal with this today I am going to try and double up the teflon tape and see if it will seal I cant crank the fitting down any more as it is pulling on the plumbing. OK got rid of the long length of spa flex put in a length of schedule 40 http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0762.jpg This enabled me to secure it to the structure in the ceiling so it wont pull on the plumbing that is under the tank as this was causing a problem with the previous set up. http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0764.jpg The drops are in place and tied in to the ceiling I need a new piece of glass cut for the top of the sump the plumbing was putting pressure on it when it was on the old sump under the tank and broke it around one of the bulk heads http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0767.jpg WHOO HOO!!!!!!!! Time to filler up http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0766.jpg All right it is up and running the New Bubble King is in place and running But I need to make up more salt water. http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0768.jpg Magie Still keeping an eye on things making sure I do it right http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0760.jpg |
How come I dont have 6 kids
WHERE THE HELL WOULD I PUT THEM LOL ;) |
Today it is time to get the Aquacare turbo III reactor up and running
I decided to do a mock up in the living room so I could watch the start of the Rolex 24 HR. of Daytona Good thing the wife is not home http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0801.jpg Went by Aquatic Addictions yesterday afternoon and picked up a Sedra 2500 for a supply pump then off to Home depot to pick up some parts to get it down to a 1/4 inch supply line and a by pass to let out excess pressure I will also use this pump to supply my phosban reactor http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0804.jpg mounted the pump to the back board and the Co2 sensor to the ports http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0803.jpg The Bubble King SM250 braking in nicely http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0794.jpg Magie has given up and gone to bed http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/IMG_0775.jpg |
