Remora Pro Overflowing

I've got a Remora Pro I'm testing out on a bedroom tank and I can't get the damn thing to stop overflowing. I'm using a Mag 3 with the Aqua C overflow box and the collection cup just keeps filling with water. Any ideas?

What kind of additives do you add to your water? Have ou had a skimmer on this tank before? If so, what brand?

Have you raised the o-ring to the very bottom of the skimmer cup, so it's raised REALLY high? Previously, when I set mine too low, it would overflow..

I just did a large water change in my tank, with a Urchin. (larger remora style) and its been makin clear too, alot of it. Was some dark skimmate before the water change so I dunno. Inhabitants seem ok and happy

My oring is set for as high cup height as possible

No additives as of yet since there's no corals yet just a couple fish. I've never even seen this o-ring you speak of either. It wasn't there when I bought it and I never needed it before when I had it hooked up to an older tank. The collection cup always just sat in place and I didn't need to adjust anything. Maybe I'll pop by the LFS tomorrow and have a look at a new setup to see what I'm missing.

the O ring goes around the outside of the collection cup. Its used to set the cup at a desired height. The higher the cup is, the darker, more solid the skimmate will be. needs to be adjusted for tank conditions. They sell replacements

I called their customer service line and they mailed me a free o ring for my remora. Great customer support.

You can also use 2 zap straps hooked together and use in place of the o-ring......just make your own..it's a bit crude..but it worked when mine broke!

Ya, the missing O-ring is the culprit of your overflow for sure!! I know J&L stocks them, they could have one to you in a couple days probably.

I just used some elastic bands. Mine is set to almost the bottom of the cup. The skimmer works really good. Really dark skim mate full every 2 days, almost black and slimy.

Well, I was rummaging around my kitchen drawers looking for elastics when I came across some replacement elastic seals for my magic bullet. They fit perfectly and it works great now. Thanks Magic Bullet. lol I should email them since they'll pretty much add any usefulness whatsoever to infomercials these days. lol Thanks for your help guys.

My O ring broke as well but I put a drain fitting in the end as my cup is hard to get out with gunk in it. The drain stops it from going down to far.

Anyone with a broken o-ring, just email the company, they ship them out right away N/C! They sent me 2... so I wouldn't bug them I guess!
