Kanai Rock @ J&L

Anyone heard of this rock and are interested in getting some ?

Quinn 04-09-2003 05:48 PM

i need some, rushing to get my floor reinforced so i can get some while it's on special. if you're planning to order some, we should get a group order going, i'll want about 30lbs. from the photos it looks like nice rock, i don't think JL would stock anything not worth what you pay. i'd like mine uncured, note that you have to reserve it.

Buccaneer 04-09-2003 06:17 PM

It is only being offered in 70lb boxes ( uncured ) ... I am in for 2 boxes

Quinn 04-09-2003 08:09 PM

oh shoot that's right. i suppose i should place my order now then. is there any savings on shipping if we do three boxes versus two?

Not sure but I will call and find out tomorrow

Hi teevee ... ended up at golds and he had indonesian and fiji for 5.99/lb inc tax ... picked up 60 lb's of that instead ( already cured and no shipping hassles ) ... btw do you have a lead on some good base rock ?

I drooled over that rock too, it has some really great shapes, and is inexpensive. IMHO a person needing rock should go there, and pick out what they like rather than going online, and taking a chance. BTW at one time Riverfront had some real good Calcium Carbonate rock , which makes great base rock @ $4.99/kg. I have a lot of it, and once covered with Coraline, you can't tell it from other LR.:smilecol:

Yea Bob ... it is nice rock and at that price I could not turn it down ... they just got in their fish shipment as well ... real nice Koran Angel

Cheers

base rock is $2.50/lb from SWC, $1.50/lb from JL. i'm still planning to use tufa.

koran angel in a reef?

Buccaneer 04-12-2003 05:30 PM

Hehe ... not for a reef tank ... real nice looking tho ... have you found somewhere to get the Tufa rock yet ?

Cheers

i was going to check when i was in calgary but i got thinking and once again i'm undecided as to what i'm going to do, tufa or base rock. should be at a garden centre somewhere though.
