Acro Crab Question ?

I also have an Acro Crab on my blue tip. Will a yellow clown goby still inhabit the acro or will the crab scare it away?

thanx Allan

I've had a couple of acro crabs move considerable distances in the tank to different coral heads (well..like 6 feet...which seems like a lot when you are only 1/2" in size). One has actually moved into a coral that already had one, so they might be a pair.

I have acro crabs and there help your coarls grow. They're like a goby and shrimp.

Wait...a pair? As in...acro crab love? I have two in a birdsnest colony. One is MUCH smaller than the other. I was wondering if they would fight, etc.

I figure that they must be enjoy each other's company because the crabs won't tolerate anything/anyone else coming near their piece of coral.

Here's a picture of the two of them:

I just got one in a colony I picked up today. They don't require "target" feeding, they will live off of what the coral provides and any fish food that gets stuck in their coral. I read somewhere that they will die if removed from their "home". This is the only coral I have that has one so we'll see if this colony does any better that the others in my tank.

Acro crabs come in several shades & colours. They hunt at night and scavenge about. In the day they generally stay tucked away and try to prevent the coral from predators.

Untamed, I think your picture would be a great entry for the July POTM contest.

Here is a picture of one of my acro crabs.

He/She is now in my refugium in a pop bottle.
