Bad mushrooms
 

I don't want these mushrooms to burn my sps any suggestions?

I turned one giant one into 6 small ones :lol:.

I was gonna try some joe's juice, or the calcium injection but i don't want them to multiply thats for sure!

What about cutting them off and using a small Stainless Steel toothbrush to scrub off the remainder. Just a thought I have not tried this.

You can try chipping them off with a chissel.

I was hoping for someone to tell me of some way to kill them where they are without having to chip away rock or remove it, as you can see in the picture, the two monti's have encrusted the rock that the mushrooms are on.

Can't you get a pair of snips and wire brush in there?
They make them in toothbrush size.

You might be able to convince then to move by aiming a powerhead at them. I have removed them with a sharp razor before too.

The powerhead is a good idea. If that doesn't work is it possible to peel them off? I noticed when I took a razor to mine they just happily grew babies from whatever tissue was left on the rock. (which was my intent at the time, so good thing, lol)

ya i just killed off a whole colony of them, they were stinging the life out of my cup coral :twised: i injected joes juice into the stem and by morning nothing left. i tryed joes juice the same way as you would for aiptasia but no go, have to pierce thru the stem and inject, nasty little buggers, can't believe i actually payed for them a few months back!

I wonder if the injection with boiling water trick would work too then...

i don't see why not, assuming it steaming hot. i know boiling water is more a miss then a hit for aiptasia, but hey these are mushrooms right :wink:

Could also try grabbing the base of the mushroom with forceps and pull them off the rock. Needs to be done with a quick motion, not slow and easy.

I've opted to try the joe's juice. I fed it to em and injected the body so hopefully it worked
Sorry i couldn't frag them but I have more in my propagation tank so when those ones grow out of control I'll frag em up and then give em away
